Aluminium free anti-perspirant deodorant?

I’ve just finished reading an article on the web about commercial aluminium based anti perspirants/deodorants and am a bit worried about how they can increase the risk of breast cancer. Has anyone used a good aluminium free variety and are they effective?

Aluminium comes in form for deodorant and it also links to diseases like breast cancer you should need to avoid this ingredient. Now days there are many deodorants that contain aluminium free antiperspirant substance but most of them contain aluminium in it many people find it more healthier and comfortable just to feel sweat free but they do not realise the side effect of it. you should prefern natural deodorant that are better for your health, skin and do not have any reactions.

thanks so much for posting this. I have been looking for so long for a product that will actually work without the aluminum. I will give moogoo.com.au a try. thank again

This thread is so good! I’ve been looking for deodorants without aluminium in them, and are more gentle on your underarms. I think i might try moogoo one and the harmonis kiss one from woolies.

It’s such a minefield isn’t it? My local health food store has a wall of natural deodorants but after trying several of them I gave up. The Harmoni’s Kiss one at Woolies is the best i’ve found. I still use my Moogoo on my days off but the white marks really turn me off of it, that and it doesn’t work too well for me anymore.

Hope you find one that works well for you.

2-3 weeks ago I discovered the Harmoni’s Kiss one too – at the Green & Organic Expo. Since then I’ve been using that one and I love it. I also bought two more – one each for my 13 and 11 year olds and they love it heaps and heaps as well.

Finally a great scented aluminium-free deodorant that really works. I don’t have a big prob with sweating but my 11 year sure does. Genetically, she just copped it pretty bad poor little thing – and I’ve noticed she’s quite ‘early’ compared to what I was. It works for my 11 year old so I suppose that’s the real test for it! I haven’t noticed her ‘natural’ scent since she’s been using it – yay!!

It comes in a really pretty bright pink coloured container too which is her fave colour! I can very highly recommend this one. I had to got to Woollies to get it though because they don’t sell it in Coles.

From seeing this thread today it looks like there are a lot more good aluminium-free deos on the market today now. It’s great! The demand must be pushing companies to produce them so there will probably be a lot more available in the future too!

I ended up buying the Moogoo one and while it’s great for stopping my itchy armpits, it leaves the worst white marks on my clothes. Also, after a long day at work if I sniff my shirt, it’s a little smelly. It is on par with other natural deos that i’d tried previously (so much that I threw the others out). I’ll still use up the bottle on my days off from work but as you have to reapply it throughout the day, it’s probably not suited to working women.

Now i’m using the Harmoni’s Kiss “Oragnic Girl” one (a brand actually aimed at teenage girls) and it’s nearly perfect. It’s available at Woolworths (look for the cute pink roll-on), is only $5 (half the price of every other natural deo i’ve used), keeps me smelling nice ALL DAY, and is certified organic by ACO. Plus i’m actually sweating less – I don’t know how it does it but’s it’s aluminium free. I was recommended them on my blog. The only thing i’m not too keen on is the smell but it’s growing on me since it’s perfect in every other way.

I have been using the OK TeaTree Deodorant aluminum free, the packaging are green in colour. You can find them in Coles, it place together with the other Deo, but with much lower shelf. Alternatively, I am also using Deo from The Body Shop, aluminum free one.

Last time I saw a homemade deo recipe: mixing Baking SODA with a bit of cornflour. Then using puff to apply underarm. It deodorised rather than antiperspirant. It might not work for ppl who sweats a lot.
    cheers.

I’m super happy with the cream deodorant I bought on ebay 🙂 Orange dream is a gorgeous scent. You can choose 16 different scents

Yeah you’re right Shazam it is a strong scent isn’t it. I find it’s definitely working better now that before which is cool. Thanks Missteaaddict that’s interesting about the blocked sweat ducts, totally makes sense from what I’ve experienced anyway.

I agree that it takes a bit of time for them to start working properly. As the Moogoo site mentions, it’s probably because your sweat ducts are blocked and so when you stop blocking them with anti-perspirants, you sweat more to unclog them.

I’m really interested in the Moogoo one since my current one dries out my armpits a bit (the crystal roll on one with essential oils). I think I might try that one when my current one starts running out.
