Thanks for all tips, girlies. I am back and loved every bit of shopping spree in KL. Bukit Bitang is heaven on earth for all the shoppers. Lovely climate, food and great place to visit.

Check out the makeup at the pharmacy and hair products. I know they stock Vidal sassoon hair oils and what not. Maybelline and revlon are cheaper by alot. Theyre alot like our prices but you get the discount of the exchange rate!
MAC in KL shopping is alot cheaper than here so you can get alot over there. All the makeup and clothes are bascially cheaper. However be warned of the quality…
Modjo72 is definitely right, be aware of taxis and night time if you are alone or with few people.

Shopping is heaven there. Literally everything is cheaper compared to Australia. I liked Pavillion mall the best, out of all the malls.

I have visited KL 4 times in the last 3 years and I love it for shopping.Bukit bintang , known as the golden triangle is excellent for shopping!(?That is the main reason I visit KL).So if you stay in Bukit bintang you can walk to 5 malls and another 2 will be just a couple stops away on the monorail.Checkout sephora at bukit bintang, but it is overpriced compared to USA… Most brands are similarly priced to Australia but The body shop is cheaper.

All these malls range from mid to luxury range and the most up market mall is starhill gallery …

Ooh you lucky thing! I went to KL in August this year and loved it. The major malls are brilliant. I love Suria which is near the Petronas towers- great range of shops from high end to British Dept stores like M&S. They also have a good selection of places to eat- love Ben’s restaurants. Pavillion is great and the golden triangle section is where most of the malls are located. They were raving about Farenheight 88 when I was over there and that seems to have more bargain priced items. I am a wise shopper now I am over 40 so it was a bit too young for me :). Try taking the hop on hop off bus but be prepared for waits in the traffic (and heat!) but it’s a good way to see the city. Depending on where you are staying (we always stay at the Traders Hotel near Petronas towers) there is now a cover and airconditioned sky walk that takes you from the convention centre into the Golden Triangle in a leisurely 20 mins or so. Aquarium is cool. I have heard great things about the Batu caves. Last time we took a taxi to Utama mall as I was looking for the old Tangs dept store only to find it had relocated- that was a good hr away but mixed range of shops and things to do in the complex. Be aware of safety at night if off the beaten track and at the markets (as advised by the hotel) and dont be afraid to ask for a “car” taxi instead of the premium vans if needed. Many hotels ramp the premium taxis in front of the their hotel but we discovered you can get a regular car if needed (I often take my elderly mum with me and she cant get in or out of a mini van hence needing a normal car). Oh one last thing- be sure to pay for taxi vouchers esp at the airport (easy to find on your way out of KLIA) and you pay a set amount and get a voucher, many shopping centres do this as well) it saves you getting really ripped off and is safer. Enjoy it- the exchange rate makes it a brilliant destination for MAKEUP SHOPPING!!!

I agree with Linda, the KL airport is great! I was in KL on a business trip last year and the airport has a couple of Body Shop stores. They had so many limited edition perfume oils and EDTs and so cheap too! I had been to a Body Shop outside of the airport and the airport store prices were slightly lower.

I stayed at the Sunway hotel which has a shopping centre nearby. It was a huge shopping centre, I stayed in KL for a week and went there almost everyday but didn’t buy much. In terms of fashion items, I found them a bit disappointing and the quality wasn’t that great. The sales assistants were a bit too attentive for my liking. I did some shopping near the KL Twin Tower though.

At KLCC the buffet including entrance to the viewing tower is amazing! If youre headed up make sure you save lots of room for the lunch in daytime or dinner for nighttime. Sunway resort and Sunway pyramid is also good 🙂
