Organic, eco friendly men’s face cream

My husband is looking for a moisturiser/skin care range that is organic, eco friendly and fair trade. i think the main things he means by “organic” is paraben and SLS free, with no nasty chemicals. I’ve found a few products like this for women, but they all seem to be scented with very feminine scents – rose, lavender etc. He probably would be fine wearing them, he doesn’t care so much about that, but i’m wondering if anyone knows of a specific men’s range or cream that fits the bill? Thanks!!

I think Aveda and Natio both have men’s ranges but they’re not natural and definitely not organic. I’m interested in Argan Oil as a moistuiriser (I currently use Jojoba Oil around my eyes). I’ll have to check out the brand you mentioned in the other thread.

    🙂

What’s Jojoba Oil like? I’ve heard of it plenty but never really looked into it. Would you use it elsewhere other than under your eyes?

Definitely, it’s a really light oil that absorbs easily without being greasy, it’s great to use for massages (you can even mix a little bit of your favourite scented oil like Lavender if you like) and it’s just a fantastic moisturiser. Most of my moisturisers, both body and face, have Jojoba in them.

Even with my oily skin, because it’s so light it’s fine to use and it doesn’t clog your pores. It helps regulate your skin’s sebum production so it’s meant to be great for both oily and dry skin. It’s really similar to our skin’s sebum which is why it absorbs so easily and is perfect for sensitive skin too.

Jojoba oil can be used for so much, some people use it to remove makeup.

Oh cool, I’ll have to try it sometime. I’ve been really into natural oils lately. Tea Tree Oil is my favourite spot treatment. I’ll have to add Jojoba Oil to the growing collection haha

Would he be comfortable to try using a natural oil rather than a men’s face cream? Most are generally gender non-specific and there are plenty that have no scent.

I use Argan Oil on my skin. It’s a dry oil so it leaves no residue or greasiness and just absorbs right in. I’m acne-prone and I haven’t broken out using either. The one I use is 100% Pure, Organic, Fair Trade, and also eco-friendly according to the website. (It’s actually the active ingredient in Moroccan Oil so it’s great for hair, too, and you can use it on your nails to nourish them).

I actually can’t think of any natural or organic face products for men except for Gaia Made for Men (http://www.gaiaskinnaturals.com/GAIA-Made-For-Men/).

They have a range of products just for men including shampoo, conditioner, face & body wash, scrub, shave gel, shave creme and face creme/moisturiser.

I don’t think their products are fair trade but they do use a lot of certified organic ingredients and are natural. They’re also pretty affordable and available in Coles and Thomas Dux stores nationwide (along with some chemists, their website has a stockists page).

I forgot to mention that their packaging is recyclable and reusable. Their travel packs are also refillable so trying out a travel pack might be a good way of seeing if your husband likes them.

Awesome, thanks heaps! I’ve only head of Gaia for babies so I’ll have to hunt this down 🙂
