makeup for men

what are the thoughts on this? a friend’s boyfriend was VERY metrosexual when she first met him, getting tans and eyelashes tinted and tinted moisturiser.. she hated it, and now he doesn’t get caught up in it all anymore, all his friends were the same though.

I think men look great in make-up – if we have raised the bar for beauty to the point where women have to wear make-up to make the grade, why should men get off scott free? :p

I totally agree, it`s because of the media and marketing that boys/guys these days are starting to wear makeup. Guys don`t need makeup! What for??? Being conscious up to a certain point about their appearance is a good thing, and that`s why proper grooming and making themselves look presentable is all they need to do.

Blokes wearing makeup is a no no to me, i understand the need for it if having professional photos taken, going on tv, wedding photos, but that`s it as far as i`m concerned. If some like to wear it thats their call but not my idea of necessary. Grooming, skincare etc are more essential and important to me. More and more of the younger generation & school age boys seem to wear makeup but i think it`s because they are being bombarded with it through the media and tv shows, celebrities etc to look a certain way.

I think times have changed, men are much more concious of their appearances and looks and there were when i was at school. Back then the only form of skincare that the boys would wear was zinc cream. Is there a men`s line of make up yet?

i like the fact that some men wear make-up and have a daily skin routine.
not mine but hes a born hunter and fisherman, he carnt understand my usage of make-up and skin care, therefore men and make-up in my house is a no no.

I really like the idea of men wearing makeup.
Not into guys with cake faces or mascara, but foundation/concealer/bronzer isn`t bad. I`m all for improving the look of one`s skin & men should embrace makeup.

I wear concealer and mineral foundation on a daily basis. I wear enough to cover my blemishes and smooth my skin, but no one has ever passed comment. 99% of people that I ask to make comment on my skins appearance are surprised that I am even wearing makeup.

Clinique just came out with a mens line. It`s pretty good from what I hear. I have some male clients that prefer mineral makeup because you can use less and it doesn`t cake. If you can`t find the Clinique one try Bare Minerals. It also has a sunscreen and is an oil controller as well. Most men need this as our skin produces more oil due to that fact that it is thicker and takes on more abuse such as shaving, non moisturizing etc. Check them both out. Don`t worry about looking girly. No one will notice if it is done correctly.

im not very keen on men wearing mascara, and things like that. but if they use cosmetics like moisturisers to take care of his skin and etc.. then i wouldn`t mind at all. everyone needs to take care of themselves afterall =]. just not very into men who want to be makeup pretty :S

Considering I hardly wear any makeup at all (more because I don`t know how to than because I don`t want to XD) I`d probably be pretty bewildered if my boyfriend did this. If he spends too much time on it, though, I`d probably be somewhat unhappy…I suppose…
