The Ordinary Foundation

Hi BH Lovers!
I happened to be awake a few nights ago when my shade ( I hope) in The Ordinary Foundation popped up as being back in stock (2:30am! HAHA!) I got 2.0P & 2.1P.
I’m normally a light-medium pink tone, more medium during summer but am hoping I can get my foundation here and do some testing to see if the 2.0 and 2.1 are the correct shades. Also got the silicone primer.

Would love some more feedback from other The Ordinary lovers and haters?? I can’t wait for it to arrive! Ordered direct from Deicem’s website! Have been waiting for it to come into stock via Adore Beauty but am quite impatient so will be happy to receive from OS!

Have combination skin with disgustingly large pores around my nose and cheeks. Very dry under eye and find I’m constantly fighting the battle of under eye caking and my pores sucking the product from my nose into the depths of the horrid pores there and looking like a weird dalmation!

Love & Light!

Looking at buying one of their foundations and the comments on this now are old. Anyone still using a TO foundation and would you recommend it?

Hayley I`m currently using the serum foundation. It`s a very runny consistency but I like it. Has good coverage and feels light on the skin. For the price point it`s pretty good.

Thanks so much for the reply. I was looking at the serum one rather than the one for fuller coverage. You can`t go past the price, they seem to be good value at less than $13.

I am using the high adherence primer at the moment and loving it. My foundation seems to be lasting so much longer throughout the day. I haven’t tried the foundation but most likely won’t as I tend to stick to natural/organic brands where I can.

I have never heard of this product but will look out for it, it sounds like everyone is happy with it, I stick to familiar foundations, it might be time to try new ones

Very disappointed in my colour choices! They arrived quite quickly but sooooo yellow! I looked as though I had jaundice!
The primer is amazing! Silky and extremely light to wear but long lasting!

I have combination skin, particularly oily around the cheeks and NOTHING holds on my forehead I may just give up wearing foundations and stick with my Body Shop tea tree BB cream that does the trick for an hour or two when in public!

I wasn’t able to find matches on findation so just took a bit of a guesstimate against my previous shades. So if anyone’s looking for a bottle of 2.0 or 2.1, I have 1 each with 2 pumps of each taken out

Has anyone with oily skin tried this? I would love to try it!!

I really didn’t like the coverage foundation. If you have dry skin, I definitely wouldn’t recommend it. It clung to all my dry patches and come the end of the day I looked awful…

Don’t get me wrong, the coverage is amazing, but it really just did not work for my dry skin….

I’ve been using them since April as I had pre-ordered. The Serum version is not so sheer as people seem to think, it is definitely more than sheer and you can build it in layers.

The Coverage version I think is best value and when I reviewed it on another thread I said it is like putting concealer over your face. It’s thinner than I expected (only slightly thicker than the serum version). You can easily sheer the Coverage version down or build it up and it kinda makes the Serum unnecessary.

You will love the foundations if your skin is normal to a little dry (me) with no obvious pores or dry patches. If you are oily then powder is a must but if not oily you can get away with no powder. They are more complexion enhancers and don’t have that elastic property that many foundations have so they won’t cover issues like pores or dry patches, they will enhance them. You can use a primer to minimise this. They don’t settle into fine lines, don’t look cakey and don’t pill with other skincare layers or sunscreen.

For me I love the Coverage version and think the Serum is pretty useless as you can sheer out the Coverage. But for good skin days only as they lack that flexible elastic type property. The neutral and pale shades are fantastic (I’m 1.0n) and they are really true to shade and dont oxidise.

I saw that they were restocked as well! I think there High-Adherence primer as also half price at the time. Did you get the serum or coverage foundation? The serum has been received quite well but it has sheer coverage. The coverage foundation seems to be more of a mixed bag.

I’m not in the market for a new foundation at the moment (just started a new bottle). But the price and ingredients caught my eye. I’d love to know how you go! I also have quite dry under eyes but with some fine lines.

P.s. Using different primers on different areas of your face might help with foundation wear. Maybe a primer that’s mattifying and fill your pores like Benefit Professional on the oily areas. Then something more hydrating primer or eye cream for your under eye?
