Redness on chin

First post. I’m a guy caring for a disabled woman who has pronounced redness on her chin. I use foundation but that doesn’t completely cover it. Can anyone recommend a brand of something I can use to cover/treat the redness?

I’m currently applying moisturiser, foundation then blusher etc. Thanks.

If you don’t have a large budget Maybelline do a great green concealer that you can dab on after moisturiser. You’ll need to blend it well but the foundation will cover up any noticeable green tones. This is probably best if she has light-medium skin, I’m not sure how well it would work on darker skin as it’s a slightly pale product but it’s worth a shot. As a previous comment mentioned, any green concealer should do the job.

It’s half price at chemist warehouse right now but it’s usually $10ish anyway so nothing outrageous.

Thanks for all the advice. No, there isn’t an underlying medical causative for the redness, It’s just red. I’ve been through her mountains of makeup and can’t find anything. I want to be able to present her to the world the way she would like if she were able. Thanks again I’ll give those a try. I’m assuming you apply these products before the foundation. Thanks again.

Jayce, the fact that you’ve used the term “pronounced redness” indicates to me that you may need a heavy duty product for covering flaws. What comes to my mind are:

Dermablend, which is a brand available in Priceline:
    https://www.dermablend.com.au/

Coverderm, which is a brand available from TVSN, the home shopping network. Ring TVSN’s customer service to get product recommendations:
    https://www.itvsn.com.au/

Pur Cosmetics has a popular green-tinged primer which you apply under foundation. It is available on TVSN and it is called Pur Cosmetics Correcting Primer. (The green pigment in the primer counteracts the redness.)

I haven’t found green-based products to always be effective. Sometimes using a liquid foundation with a high percentage of pigments is enough to conceal redness. The first foundation that I would recommend is Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay In Place Makeup. I have some redness on my cheeks and nose. Although Double Wear does not completely conceal the redness, it is enough to tone it down.

Estée Lauder has a product called Double Wear Maximum Cover Camouflage Makeup for Face and Body SPF 15. I haven’t tried this product, but it might be more suitable for your needs:

    https://www.esteelauder.com.au/products/643/Product-Catalog/Makeup/Face/Foundations

There is a brand called Thin Lizzy that has a high coverage concealer. I haven’t used the concealer, but I’ve seen it in Priceline:

Concealer Crème – The Iconic High Coverage Concealer That Covers Tattoos!

There are lots more foundations and concealers that have a high percentage of pigments which you can buy from professional makeup stores.

Does this woman that you’re caring for have some type of skin condition or health issue that is causing the redness? If so, that may need to be addressed with a skin care product, seeing a dermatologist etc.

A green-based concealer covers redness. Google it to see the brands available.
