Lightweight Foundations

Beauties!! I am in the market for a new lightweight foundation that won’t accentuate pores. I’ve been using my current fave (Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous) for years but for some reason have noticed that it’s starting to break up around my nose recently…maybe my skin is changing?!

I have normal skin with slightly oily t-zone. Any recommendations (ideally drugstore) would be so helpful.

The pick of the drug store foundations for me is Maybelline’s Fit Me which is good for oilier skin. But if you want to spend a bit more ($55) I love Clinique’s Even Better Glow foundation which is sheerish and dewy. Estee Lauder’s Double Wear Nude Water Fresh foundation is also quite sheer with a gorgeous finish ($58 – buy at DJs and receive an 8 piece GWP at the moment ($75 min spend). Best of luck in finding the right foundation for you!

Now I know you said preferably drugstore, but I’ve never found one I love. I would highly recommend Clinique Superbalanced makeup – it feels lightweight on the skin, has medium buildable coverage, and sounds like it may suit your skintone perfectly given the oily t-zone you mentioned. You can pick up a sample from Clinique counters too if you want to try it out before dropping the cash to see if it would be worth it to you!

Hi Lauren Meisner, if you’re after something really light-weight, try Olay’s CC cream. I absolutely love it for daily use and it gives quite good coverage even though it is not a foundation.

MAC Face and Body and Nars Sheer Glow are two that I swear by that are both lightweight and don’t accentuate pores. I know they are not drugstore, but I can’t find any that work as well. L’oreal True Match probably comes closest, I have also normal skin and oily T and this worked well, also their Lumi range is good. Maybelline Fit Me might also be worth trying, though I found this a little too chalky for me though many rave about it. Goodluck on your search!! Foundation is such a hard one and it suck when a go-to doesn’t work as well anymore!! x

I love Rimmel’s 24 hour breathable foundation. It’s lightweight in feeling with a light-medium buildable coverage. I have oily skin and I wore it yesterday for about 8 hours with no breakup.

Have you considered using a mineral powder until your skin settles down? Nude by Nature is cheap enough to try. It will sit on top of your skin and give it the break that it sounds like it needs. You can spritz with a setting spray if you don’t want to look too powdery.

You`ve GOT to try a mineral powder! I love NbN too! It never makes me break out & it makes my skin look flawless – without looking like I`m wearing makeup!

Oh very good idea!! I`ve never thought to use a mineral powder before.
