How does everyone store there makeup ? I ran out of room in the bathroom so I started using storage boxes to store excess makeup. Its clear and easy to see what I have.
I don't have a lot of makeup, I have a makeup purse and a plastic tray type of holder that they had for sale at Aldi a few months ago. Its got 2 slots for lipstick and I only have 2 so it's perfect. I got my husband one as well for his moisturiser and aftershave etc.
I have one of the storage boxes for haircare products. I bought it for all the dyes I had, now I just have half a bottle of purple dye... but now it just has lots of conditioner I've stocked up on and toners etc..
You have WAY more control over ourself than I do! I don't even know how much stuff I have laying around! I don;t buy expensive make-up, but I cannot help myself, I always tell myself "oh, it's only $4, it's ok, treat yourself" hahaha
I am trying to cut things back :)
You need to use it before it goes off, will you get through it?
Thanks for the information, but maybe Gwenythm would like to chat about this with a bunch of people rather than have a single "answer" to their question? Just a thought...
Your info also directs Gwenythm away from BH Forums to other websites, which again is helpful, but also is a bit counterproductive to having the Forums in the first place.
Discussing things usually leads to new ideas and even making friends.
The Forums are we go and chat about things and ask questions, look for new ideas, trade information. This is why we are here Petal.
I'd like to know what Petal wrote because I don't understand this response TinDrum.
Me too onlyoni, but it definitely wouldn't be spam from Petal. Who is Gwenythm? I can't see her comment on here either.
I don't know, Trackydacky. I'm totally confused.
Sorry I hope you don't mind that I chimed in above regarding asking things in Forums.
I keep the bulk of mine in a big black and white woven box with a lid (this way my obsession can be kept out of sight hahaha) on the inside I have odds and ends like little mugs holding things like lip liners, I have a plastic little container that was a tomato container (very highbrow I know :) holding some of my lippies, other than that everything on the inside is organised in some chaotic manner.
But things have spilled out side the black and white box!!! So there is a bunch of stuff in a Designer Brands postal box (again, very schmick I know haha) and the remainder of the spill-over is in these really useful Sistema grey stackable boxes that also have a little handle on them.
So yeah, nothing very sexy here on my end. I have tried to look for organisers, but they are always WAY too small and they are so ridiculously expensive!! So any tips are welcome! In fact PLEASE give me tips! :)
Hi I ended up going to bunnings to get storage boxes to keep make-up and hair products in. It was cheaper than Kmart. But I also did pick up some small trays at Kmart for $4 to have next to the shower with shower products in.
These look cool also tray storage on catch.com.au
The nail polish organizer is good also
I’m so disorganised with storing my makeup and skincare products and hope to get some good ideas here too.
I have an everyday makeup bag that I take to the bathroom each morning. Then I have another 3 or 4 makeup bags containing other opened makeup (eyeshadows/liner/lipsticks/pencils/foundations etc) that I use from time to time.
Feel like I’m living out of (makeup) bags!
So, I don't use makeup..... but I have quite a lot of skincare products which I like to keep on the bathroom cabinet. I got these 2 storage trays from Kmart and they were either $5 or $8 for the pair. This way my stuff is where I can see it, reminding me to cleanse, etc and to use it before it goes off. Come cleaning day, I just lift the trays off the cabinet, clean, then pop them back rather than moving each item individually. During summer when it gets really hot in my bathroom I can just pick up the containers and move into the cooler bedroom for a few days.
I'm lucky I have an ensuite with two sinks. Hubby stays down one end with his stuff. I said to him 'we are never moving to a house with a small ensuite , I could'nt cope after being used to a big bathroom" Most of my stuff is skincare , I have a 'back-up' for all the things I use, and I have a lot, It's all in the cupboards underneath my sink with make-up, a blowdryer I never use, and other odds and ends. My big haircare box is on my husbands side.
I agree those organisers are too small but they are o.k for the basics for me, everything that does'nt fit just goes under the sink. .
I use a small basket for my make up, small plastic containers for assorted skincare products and a big plastic container for my hair products. Containers I purchased from Cheap as Chips.
My makeup is all over my bathroom drawers! I don't have enough room for it all so what doesn't fit in there is in clear tubs similar to what Trackydacky posted that are in my vanity! All my new stuff is in my cupboard drawers LOL
I store my makeup in an acrylic makeup storage box that has six separate drawers as I have accrued a lot of makeup over the years and I could no longer keep it all in a bag. I found a photo of what it looks just to give you an idea.
I don't use much makeup but what little bit I do use just sits on my dresser/in a mini makeup bag on my dresser.
Hi christinac, there is a group on Facebook called Kmart hacks Australia. You can get some seriously good inspiration from that group.
thanks I'll check it out
Thanks for the questions about the post that I deleted. I'm trying to keep this thread devoted to christinac's question, so I will post what I deleted on the following thread which should put things into context:
I have mature acne prone skin (still!) that gets congested and feels blurgh every so often. This is my go to scrub/mask to restore my skin to feeling normal and 'clean'.
This was a great eye product! The results speak for them self! I was so happy to see an improvement just after using the product constantly for a week.
L'oreal Elvive Extraordinary Clay Detox shampoo comes in the usual packaging and the color is different and attractive to me. It has a slight smell that does not linger for long after wash.
