Hits & Misses: AUSTRALIS (+50% OFF SALE)

What are some of your favourite products from AUSTRALIS? What are some things you didn’t like?
(PSA: everything is currently 50% OFF for 2 days on their website – super fast shipping and comes with a sample too. I ordered last month and had a great experience)

I absolutely adore this brand and would recommend the

  • Banana powder (too good for words)
  • Eyebrow pencil (excellent performance and price)
  • Cray for colour eyeshadow sticks (especially “Irresistibly Plum”)
  • Show some cheek blush (best blushes I’ve ever used)
  • Makeup bag (good quality and looks so chic)

Some things that didn’t work out for me

  • Velourlips (crumbly, flakey, too drying)
  • Clear lash & brow extender (didn’t do anything)
  • Metallix shadows (creased quickly)

I’m using the Fresh & Flawless Pressed Powder and I really like it. It hides my pores, makes things look smooth and lasts well. It’s more of a powder foundation rather than just pressed powder and it’s buildable. Many have commented that it’s a dupe for MAC studio fix powder foundation (which I haven’t tried).

The powder sounds great. After reading the reviews about Velourlips, think I might give it a miss

I too haven’t been a fan of Velourlips, I’ve found mine to be crumbly and also smudgy. Bought a couple of little boxed sets of travel sizes, in 10 shades, and haven’t found one I want to use more than once unfortunately. Luckily I didn’t pay too much for them.

I love their Colour Inject Mineral Lipglosses, though I’m not sure if you can still pick them up in sales – I think I bought mine online. Currently using my last one too

My faves for Australis would be :

    • colour inject mineral lipsticks – love them!
    • oh 2 glow foundation (light-med coverage)
    • high life highlighter
    • show some cheek blushes
    • banana powder (but sadly I got even paler over winter so now I can’t use it as it is too dark)

    Not so faves –

    • Velourlips, some shades are ok, most of them are streaky and chalky. Nyx is better
    • shade adjusting drops (lightening) Body Shop version is better these ones are pink toned and the dropper dispenser is stupid and messy!
    • bronzer (too muddy for my skin)
    • contour kit – the only good shades in it are the banana powder and shimmer highlighter but you can buy them separately the rest of the shades are muddy and messy
    • the 3-in-1 foundation, concealer, powder is terrible! even the palest shade is so orange, awful stuff

We`re so similar! I agree with everything you`ve listed. I definitely prefer the NYX ones too. Powder wise, the`re lacking in the contour/bronzer department but make up for it with the AMAZING blushes/highlighters.

I always laugh when I see the Banana Powder. What on earth is it for?

    • 7 yrs, 3 mths ago

      LOL it`s actually bloody amazing!

It`s used to set under eye concealer / cover dark circles / brighten. I used to always use regular translucent powder but noticed a huge difference as soon as I start using Banana Powders. Makes my makeup a lot more flawless and put together.

Their mineral liquid highlighter is awesome! Great dupes for the Benefit High Beam and Sun Beam and twice as much for a fraction of the cost.

I know people rave about their Fresh & Flawless pressed powder to set their look – I can see why they do, but I’m not into the powdered finished look.

I’m yet to try their new shade adjusting drops though – I’m very keen to! It would open up an array of foundations I can’t use because I’m lighter than the palest shade.

Oooh I love liquid highlighters! For some reason I didn`t know they had one even though I know the brand pretty well. What the heck!? Gonna check it out for sure.

  • 7 yrs, 3 mths ago

Definitely the fresh & flawless pressed powder. Love it!

    • 7 yrs, 3 mths ago

Yes, so much rave on that gem! I believe it`s one of the bestselling powders at Priceline.

I subscribed to their mailing list a while a go and I saw the 50 percent sale and I was interested in getting something, if their is fast shipping, free samples and half price sales I might make a purchase.
    Thanks for the feedback

No problem! They have some really great, high quality stuff. Let me know if you end up getting anything 🙂

I hated the Velourlips! I ended up giving the three I bought to my best friend who loves them. I agree with you about the banana powder, it’s great.
