So are we after a cat eye finish? I always rest my pinky finger on my face as I apply. It keeps me stable and allows the liner to slide evenly across my eye.

If you are really unco extend your pencil and try doing a wing from the bottom. Then cheat and go over the top of your eye with liquid and go over the wing you have already created. Like tracing 🙂

I learned this from someone on YouTube. What they suggested was to use an eye shadow and an angled brush to sort of draw out the shape so that it can serve as a guide for you when you draw on your eyeliner. I personally prefer using fine nib pens or slim gel liner pencils. I find that it is easier to control and make less mistakes when the tip is fine, it is also more forgiving. I would also suggest starting with pencil liners because they are more forgiving, then work your way up to pen liners. Also, set your eye liner with some powder after drawing so that it stay put and does not smudge.

If you want a more defined line, I would suggest using a pointed tip cotton bud with a little makeup remover to clean up any mistakes or sharpen the edges. Otherwise, running a concealer over the edge of the liner will clean up any mistakes and make it look sharper too. I hope it helps!

I find that using a creme like the Anastasia Beverly Hills Waterproof crème colour in jet black ($32AU) works best for me along with the Zoeva Rose Golden 317 Wing Liner ($17AU) it helps to create and control your wing liner. I find these 2 items go hand in hand. It glide along your natural lash line in a steady stroke. It’s the perfect liner brush!
TIPS: keep a steady hand and use products that work for you

I like to use liquid, gel or cream with a brush applicator. I aim the point of the brush right into the lash line.

You need to lean on a steady surface with your arm or hand.
