Primer for mature skin

Hi, I’m trying to find a good primer for myself. I’m 45 yrs and with combination skin. I have try some brands of primer, but none suitable. Friends recommend Estee lauder double wear and benefit. I’m not sure whether I’m suitable. I’m just wondering anyone can advise me on any other good brand. Thanks.

My favourite is Illamasqua’s Hydrabase. It’s a very moisturising primer that is great for dry or mature skin. Unfortunately the brand is no longer available in Australia so needs to be ordered from their UK-based site. Lancôme’s La Base is also excellent, and more readily available.

It depends on what you are looking to do with the primer. Do you want one to hide enlarged pores or do you want one that illuminates? I too am 45 and I use a few differnt ones depending on occasion. For normal day to day, I am currently loving Designer Brands Rise & Prime which is an illuminating primer. It isn’t an in your face illumination, if that makes sense. It’s also very budget friendly. If I want to hide enlarged pores then I use either Benefit Pore Professional or Smashbox Photo Finish.

Napoletana make a great primer, I can’t live without it, I recommend visiting a Napoletana counter to get the right primer for your skin type as they really make a difference

debbie1000, I have a feeling that you mean Napoleon Perdis Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Primer. (I could be wrong, but I think that Napoletana is an Italian sauce.)

I love the Becca primers -nice and hydrating and smell great. For a cheaper option Loreal Base Magique is good. I also like Revlon FX primer and Snashbox is also pretty good. I have really dry skin and all these have been suitable for that kind of siin type but probably would be ok for combination skin too.
