I hate it when they don’t listen, I’ve had too short fringes when I’ve asked for long side swept, fringes that were thin on one side and thick on the other so I’ve had to cut more hair myself to fix it. I have a cow lick too so usually ended up twisting and pinning my fringe to the side anyway. Hope you found a suitable fix.

I hope everything works itself out Animal Lover……I just had my hair cut (and I mean cut), for the first time in 20 years. It’s always been long and the hairdresser said she was going to give me a little fringe that I could make a fringe or style it into my hair. I told her not to cut too short as my hair springs into spiral curls and gets even shorter when dried. She said she wouldn’t!!! She DID. I’m stuck now trying to style it in with my hair, not exactly what I was after.
Hahahaha seems like we are in the same boat, i feel as if every one is eyeing out my wierd fringe, most likely they arent but it feels so wierd having this micro fringe. Hope it all works out for you to love xo

Hi Animal Lover, I really feel your frustration.
I googled ‘how to salvage a short fringe’ & found this article with some tips to rescue your bangs eg. a headband, braiding it (like Nda & Lucinda have already suggested).
Here’s the link if you’re interested:
http://pbsandwichofdoom.hubpages.com/hub/How-to-Handle-a-Bad-Haircut-Too-Short-BangsIf you wet your fringe and use some gel or mousse, it’ll make the braid/twist easier to manouvre. And spritz with hairspray to keep it in in place.
If the fringe is even too short to braid , you could scrape it back, secure with pins, then take a section of hair next to your ear, braid it, then secure it to the opposite side with more pins. If your hair’s short, then do braids from both sides & overlap in the middle.
Good luck 🙂

Thanks girls, i love your ideas. I washed hair and blowdryed it last night, i have tried to part it to the side to give it a side swept look but it is so short that it doesnt move to the side 🙁 she cut it when it was wet then i asked her if that was to short when she cut it and she said no, i normally see this hairdresser all the time so she shouldve known the look i like. This morning a client told me that my fringe is so short, which prob makes things worce. I just hope this fringe will grow fast. For the wedding this sat not sure what to do.
Could you use a straightener to lengthen it a bit? Because if you have a blunt fringe and it bounces up when its dry, you can sort of smooth it down by straightening it.

Fringes are always fraught with danger. I’ve had it happen to me too, and there’s nothing worse! Now I tell my hairdresser precisely the length I want, so there is no misunderstanding! I find my hair always seems a little longer when wet, and shrinks up a little when dry (which has been the cause of too-short fringes before), so my hairdresser cuts my fringe a little long to begin with, then touches it up once it is dry so that it is the perfect length.
You might find that when you wash it, and it sits differently it could look a little better. I know it can only do so much, but have you tried stretching it out with a hairdryer and barrel brush?
Happens to everyone, when your hair is wet the length will increase so always factor that in when cutting hair. I learned this the hard way many years ago. As for the OP with the fringe issues as others have suggested there sare ways around it. Just need some bobby pins and hairspray! 😉

I don’t know if your talking about a straight across fringe or a side fringe but if like me you have a side fringe you can braid it to the side and pin it like this
