eyeshadow for hooded eyes

As a makeup artist, I advise you use a lighter colour 3/4 of the way across the eye (from inner corner).
When using a light shade try to avoid iridescent or sparkly textures.
Apply a darker/contour shade in the outer corner and blend it in about 1/4 from the outside.
*Take both shades up past your crease so you can see them both when you open your eyes. This helps to hide the illusion of a hooded eye.
Apply a natural, light shade across your browbone to set the look.
This keeps the eye area open, fresh and stops the area from looking deep set.

eles that is such a great tip. My eyes aren`t overly hooded, but the upper lid is beginning to droop a little, so I`ll have to try this!

With hooded eyes you need to create the illusion of depth above the upper lashes. Lift the “”hood”” hehe! and apply a sweep of eyeliner above the upper lashes, try to make the line nice and thick and smooth. Then take a dark shade of eyeshadow and with a sponge applicator press over the eyeliner to help “”set”” it and work the shade up to where the eye contour should be, soften with a shadow brush. Now take a medium depth colour and blend up a little higher and blend that and finally a light shadow (beige is best and not sparkly) and blend up to the brow line. When your eyes are shut it should look like a rainbow of dark at the bottom to light at the top. Now put waterproof mascara on the top lashes (this is the only type that will stay put and not mark the lids of your eyes). I don`t recommend any shadow, liner or mascara on the lower eye as the idea of this look is to lift the eyes.
