I highly recommend MAC brush cleanser. It cost $20, it does deep cleansing. My brushes look great and i clean my brushes daily now as the cleanser is gentle and does not harm the brushes. They brushes dries up quickly too.

Seashells you can get dupes of the sigma mats on eBay for about $5.99, they’re brilliant, with different textured sections. An even cheaper option while you’re waiting for your eBay mat to come from China by snail is the silicone pot holder/stands from Kmart, they’re just a textured silicone square but they work ok, I have one to rest my hair straightener on so I gave it a try and it did OK. Not great but ok.

Seashells I was having a hunt around on Aliexpress and they have the mats on there quite cheap, they look similar to the Sigma ones.

Even though I already own a Sigma cleaning glove, I might look into getting a mat at some stage, maybe in my overseas travels so I can clean my brushes along the way. I’ll see.

preciousia & Sharzi – You’re both welcome! It’s got an alcohol-y smell to it, so definitely keep deep cleaning your brushes… but this is good 10 second fix! :).

Oh and I love the look of the Sigma brush mat. I have ordered one of the egg ones through Aliexpress and still waiting for it to arrive.

i used Johnson & Johnson baby shampoo $8 for 800ml and that this cleaner tool for $1 (see photo)

    • i tie the brushes to a chopstick with a rubber band.
    • Make sure the the chopstick sticks out at the bottom so the brush is hanging above the chopsticks ends.
    • Put them in cup to dry.

i add the netting protectors too for the bigger bristle brushes to prevent it getting out of shape.
