terracycle – recycling
Not sure if this is the right place to post this…but i just found out that Terracycle has finally come to Australia!
I’m very happy that there is a place we can safely recycle our used beauty products now!

FAN-EFFING-TASTIC! I`ve got a small collection of empties that I was saving to take to Flora & Fauna – but they`re out of my way & I`ve been trying to stick to my local area with COVID. I`m not far from a DJs, so that`s much more convenient!
It`s great they accept pumps & caps, too! I was going to ask about those when I went to F&F.

It`s bloody awesome! I just hope

- More places start adopting in hour recycling/ supporting companies like Terracycle
-
- They broaden what can be recycled. E.g. see no reason why Priceline, Chemist Warehouse etc should not be doing the blister pack recycling with Terracycle. They sell so much medication which comes in that it is a no brainer.

I wanted to revive this to hopefully flag with people that:
MECCA
FLORA AND FAUNA
BIOME
All have the ability to recycle with terracycle. You can send or drop in to your store and Biome and Flora&Funa have other terracycle schemes too.
Flora and Fauna now take BLISTER PACKS 😀 I was so excited because I’ve been holding on to mind for a good year now just hanging out haha.
I am disappointed Priceline hasn’t decided to do something with Terracycle or at least similar…

I love this idea, love what flora and fauna do with many different products and the terracycle initiative

It would be great if priceline did something like this. All of those stores are nowhere near where I live, miles away for Mecca and I don`t even know about the other two. Not everyone can afford to put these in the post either. Hopefully other more mainstream businesses will decide to do this.

Ohhhhh…. I was going to post about this the other day and completely forgot!
I think it’s a great idea and have already sent off a box of ’empties’ about a month ago. It doesn’t earn an awful lot of money for your chosen charity but it all adds up over time. It would add up quicker if you collect together as a group (eg – workplace). I’m more interested in the recycling side of the program though and some of the videos of what they do with the products are quite interesting!
They also have some other programs you can join but only a couple of others interest me. They have one for used Nespresso capsules which is great. I don’t use that brand but I’m hoping other coffee pod companies come on board with that one.
