iHerb and transactions in AUD

A couple of months back iHerb changed it so that we could make our transactions in AUD and thereby avoid foreign currency exchange fees with our bank. There was much rejoicing LOL 🙂

However, I logged into internet banking today and see that I’ve still been charged the usual foreign transaction fees – even though the amount clearly states it’s AUD.

I’ve submitted an enquiry to my bank but was wondering if anyone else has come across this issue? May be worth checking your statements!

Oh damn! I placed an order last week! I would prefer Aus Post as I hate dealing with the couriers they use. Organising redelivery can be a pain in the butt!

Yea I would prefer dealing with aus post because it’s easier to pick up if you miss it, but that said I haven’t had a problem with dhl, the guy usually calls before he comes or tells me to leave a note just incase he misses us

I’m still testing it out, I think weight makes a difference. I was testing it initially with 1 item in my cart. I’m still not sure which is best, maybe I’ll just have to place an order and see 😉

Are your carts empty? I’m getting $11 dollars for 1.7kg while dhl is still $8 for that weight

I placed an order last night and found the same thing, DHL was a few bucks cheaper. Mind you, I ordered heavy stuff like oils, Aus Post might be cheaper if you’re just buying make up brushes.

Hey sorry not really on this topic but about iherb because I don’t know how to start a new topic. Anyways anyone realised that the $4 shipping option isn’t available anymore, instead there’s direct aus post shipping which is more expensive then dhl, kind of bummed though, I used the $4 shipping option often, and now I’ll have to pay at least $8 regardless of weight 🙁

Hi *dream-angels*, we’re unable to start a new topic on the weekends (to stop spammers!), but if you are asking, How Do you Create a New Topic, during weekdays,
Go to the ALL FORUMS tab – on the RH side
Click on which forum type you want your topic in (Talkback, Help! I’ve got a beauty dilemma etc)
You’ll then see a tab on the RH side, underneath the pages, in a black box CREATE A NEW TOPIC
It currently says ‘no new forum topics can be created until further notice. ‘, but I think this is only displayed on weekends and maybe after hours on weekdays – not sure as I’ve only ever created 2 topics! But try through the day during the week and see if it works then.

Ok thanks I think I tried once a while back and got that no new topics can be created until further notice so never gave it another try, but now I know for next time if ever needed. I guess that’s how they prevent spam, which is great

sweet_addict, is this in Aussie dollar? I usually pay DHL shipping around $8.50something in Aussie dollar.

I go to au.iherb.com for Aussie $ and rates.

I think I’ll take another look on their site and see what rate I get 🙂
EDIT: I just checked on au.iherb.com and I’m getting $3.98 via Australia Post and $8.85 for DHL.
I’m liking this A Post idea because it says 5-8 days and it’s trackable. Sounds good to me.

Are you sure the Aus post is more expensive than dhl? It’s $3.60 (inc tracking) which is the cheapest I’ve seen on iherb regarding postage costs
