Boxing Day

Hi

This is the first boxing day that I might get to do some shopping!

Am not sure what and how to get the best deals……

What would be the best deals on the day? Electronics?

Do I have to be one of the early bird?

DFO? Harvey Norman? Meyer? David Jones? Westfield?

I’ve never done boxing day sales mainly because there is no shops near me that do it, it’d would be 2 hours drive minimum to get to shops and after Xmas day I don’t want to do that.

However next year we are planning on being in Melb for Xmas and will still be there boxing day so I’ll probably go check the sales out.

I never go to boxng day sales, they’re always so hectic! Every year on the TV you see the massive rush of people… I wonder how people don’t get hurt in the stampede!

Beauties , hows your boxing day shopping? Am a little disappointed with the sales in Myer but well maybe cos the crowd was overwhelming.

I mentioned it to Mum today and she thinks it would be a good idea for next year.

Tell me how it works out, I’ll probably do it next year, too late now for me this year, I’ve already brought half my presents.

I havent bought a thing…. I’ll let you know if we end up doing it.

Love the sales but can’t cope with the early crowds. I only ever went to one sale, getting there before the doors opened and there were SOOOO many people I got swept in the doors, swept along thinking “I’ve GOT to get out” and got out the first door I could make it out of!!!!!!!! A quiet sit down with a coffee and then home, vowing never to go to a sale early again. I turn up when the crowds have subsided! That almost certainly makes me a whimp!
If you can cope, go for it!

I love the sales that start on Boxing Day, sometimes I think it’d be better and wiser to not give anything on Christmas Day and then take everyone out shopping on Boxing Day and then New Year sales. Would probably save a heap.

Love the logic, Iluvfacialz!!!! It’s sufficiently upside down to appeal to me completely but I’m not sure everyone in the family would agree!

I usually train it to the city super early in the morning ~ 2am and end up as one of the group of people queuing up at David Jones. The sales aren’t bad – I end up getting the Christmas fragrance gift sets or makeup sets.

I wonder if they will have the hairhouse warehouse blitz boxes again this year. They are always the best value.

    What are usually in these?

Last year they had a salon brand shampoo, conditioner, detangler, styling mousse, mini hair straightener, a brush, a lipgloss, can’t remember what brand off the top of my head but it starts with an m and they stock it at myer 😛 There might have been a couple of other things… It was only $30 and you could choose the box depending on your hair type. i.e colour treated, dry/damaged… Very good value.

The hair products… i.e shampoo, detangler… retailed at about $30 each so you get your moneys worth with one item

Sounds great – I’m gonna have to check out mine this year.

I think the longer you wait the cheaper things get, (unless you are after a very specific item). I like going mid January at Myer and things are always reduced even more.
