I’m a rep in melbourne, have been for about 3yrs now. We’re currently on brochure number 4 and brochure number 5 will be “the last customer facing brochure”. We’ve been told the last day we can put in orders in 2 May 2018 and that’s it. There’s been quite a rush on orders and alot of things are currently out of stock (everyone’s trying to stock up before it goes forever) but the company has committed to filling all customer orders – not sure how though. They’ve said it’s because the Aus/NZ market is simply not profitable for them and that’s why they are closing shop here. Sad 🙁

When I first heard about it, I was absolutely devastated for the elderly couple who rely on income from Avon. They would always come over to give us the monthly catalogues.
Avon has such great products! I love their Imari perfumes and body creams. I remember using it for the first time back when I was 8 years old. I’m now 23 and still use it!

Not sure in what capacity Avon will be here for this year – I too read their operations will remain in Australia until the end of 2018.
I`m up north visiting my mum and her Avon lady rang her Friday afternoon with the news (of course, the Avon lady is devastated and the first she knew was Thursday night when she went on-line to do something on her account!) and to inform her that after the current catalogue (Campaign 04) there would only be 2 more catalogues (05 and 06) but they would still be able to order products and if you wanted to order multiples of items, that was ok.
I`ll be going through this Campaign 04 in case there`s anything I want.
What next – Tupperware?

Yes it was confirmed in todays paper. What a shock I remember selling Avon years and years ago in the UK , well I am getting old!! lol. Did others find that it was getting a bit expensive for what it was, or was that just me? I did like some of their products but I expect some other company will come on the scene selling products almost the same.
Still another icon gone. -

Over the years I have bought many products from Avon. Not so much in the last 2-3 years, but still whenever a catalogue is dropped off at my doorstep I will always flick through it. Just in case something catches my eye.
It’s always sad to see brands disappear from the Aussie market.

It’s sad that people will be out of a job… But that’s progress, apparently…

I love their matte lippies! I was shocked when I saw this thread. Yeah really weird & sad. Me too jatz, I also have known avon to be around since I was a tot. My aunty used to sell it when I was a girl, my mum also sold it. My first creme perfume was an Avon one in the back of a dog brooch when I was a young girl. I’ve loved some of their creams, body washes and also their slippers were a fave! I’ll be stocking up in the current book then – my mum loves their deo’s and my daughter loves their body creams especially the latest sandalwood one. I’m gonna have to stock up on their latest marc. eye pencil thing – it’s waterproof and I’ve been loving it.
It’s a bit hard to believe really!
