PREPARING FOR A BIG EVENT!!!

Hello BH beauties!!

I have a massive dilemma that’s really stressing me out at the moment. Well me… and my sister. My sister is getting married in less than a couple of months and we’re both freaking out big time because we haven’t prepared, in terms of beautying it up…… at aaaalll. Of course I’m stressing and freaking out for her even more than I am for myself because it’s her big day!

Soo…. long story short guys, she doesn’t have a BH account (she might be making one soon hmmm) and she requested for me to get advice from the oh so lovely BH family on necessities, tips, regimens, routines….. anything beauty prep before a massive event like…. your own wedding!:O

BH stunners, we would really truly appreciate your wisdom right now on this dilemma of ours, especially hers…

What sort of advice, tips do you lovelies have for someone who has a wedding coming up soon? For example, what sort of treatments do you recommend for them to get for the skin, hair, body? And how often? What places, products do you recommend?

What sort of foods, exercises, supplements… (flipping music even haha) should they be looking at? Anything… Anything at all you can give we would love so much!

We would much appreciate the help and all the posts that hopefully come flooding with gold worth of advice!!!

Much love Queens <3 <3 <3

    Hi Love Bug,

All I can think of right now is: don’t have any facial too close to the big day, it can cause your skin to break out or be a bit ‘unsettled’, which would be a shame on such an occasion.

Make sure you have booked appointments for waxing, nails, facials ,makeup ,eyebrow grooming etc before the wedding.

By event I meant the Glosscars Love Bug I think that where some beauties are heading ? .
I too would like recommendations on products containing Glycolic ,

  • 4 yrs, 1 mth ago

I have a few treatments I would recommend lol Alpha H’s ultimate perfecting mask or liquid gold are fantastic.
Dr lewinn’s has a excellent range of glycolic treatments, their corrective skin peel is quite good.
Rosehip oil I would recommend Trilogy, Antipodes or Kosmea.
The Ordinary has a decent hyaluronic acid serum which is quite good, just make sure to apply it to damp skin or it can go a little tacky.

That`s an awesome list of recommendations!!!

Appreciate this so so much will definitely try to have a look.

Thank you so so much 🙂

Oh and try incorporating some glycolic treatments into your nightly routine, makes a huge difference =) once a week until the skin adjusts then you can build up to every 2-3 nights. Also worth looking into adding some Hyaluronic acid based serums and Rosehip Oil into the daily routine to boost hydration and keep the skin in tip top condition =)

Beautiful advice Amazeballs thank you so so much! Very detailed and helpful. I`ll definitely be considering them. Do you have any recommendations of these glycolic treatments or skin products you can suggest including brands?

Thank you for your help 🙂 <3

Dermalogica facials are top notch, definitely look into getting one of their treatments done. I would go for the deep cleansing/extraction option a couple of times in the lead up to the big day. I’ve had microdermabrasion treatments as well, they are good. Another option worth looking into =)

  • 4 yrs, 1 mth ago

I had microdermabrasion done before my wedding and I made sure I exfoliated my whole body in the weeks leading up to it so my skin was smooth. I also used cuticle balm religiously so my hands looked good in the ring photos.

Thank you so much for responding Calla that`s awesome advice. What sort of exfoliator did you use for your body? Very interested to know because some aren`t that great and some at home ones are even better! Would love to know 🙂

I used moo goo espresso exfoliant coffee scrub. It’s really messy, but works so well! There is a scrub in this months discovery bag though, so maybe keep an eye out for the reviews for it too.

I love moogoo!!! But I never thought to check out their exfoliants. Thanks so much Calla!! Great suggestions 🙂 <3

I agree, skincare is important in the lead up! Get some facials done professionally–but get it done at least two weeks before the event so that any reactions/purging that happens settles down prior to the big day.
In terms of exercises to do I love the treadmill, walking and running, I find it to be relaxing, awesome for de-stressing and not too strenuous, easy to find time each day to squeeze in a workout.
Foods..well a little unsure on advice for this one but try to aim for lots of extra fruit/veggies, less junk food/fast food options and try to keep it consistent prior to the big day

Thanks so much Amazaballs! Amazeballs advice there

Do you have any facials that you recommend specifically or skin treatments you can think of possbily?

Cant really offer any advice about preparing for a wedding as Im not married, but I would say skincare leading up to the big day is very important. Face masks etc to make sure skin is plump and vibrant and a good base for the day. That is usually my focus when attending weddings, going on holidays etc, making sure my skin is its healthiest and glowiest
