My eyelashes naturally curl too much

My natural eyelashes which are very long, are actually a burden (I apologise to those who cringe at me saying that!).

I can’t seem to find a decent mascara that will straighten my eyelashes, rather than curl. Does such a mascara exist?

I’ve never had my eyelashes tinted, never used an eyelash curler or have even had falsies, so I have no idea why they are doing this.

It makes it extremely hard to apply my liquid eyeliner and my mascara ends up all over my lower brow area because they are too long.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I have the same problem… very long natural lashes that curl too much. I realize this topic was posted a while back, but I wanted to share my personal solution for those who comes across the post now, the way I did.

I solve the problem by turning my eyelash curler upside down. Starting at the base of my lashes I press lightly and slowly move the curler towards the outer edges of my lashes. If needed, I flip the lash curler right side up for small touch ups. I never use a curler that has a solid handle. That way the curler is easier to use upside down.

Most importantly… I only use waterproof mascara. If I use regular mascara, my eyelashes immediately return to their natural state and have too much curl.

This has worked for me for years. I do this process daily and it has become a quick and easy part of my morning routine.

Hope this helps some other girls with their long curly lashes! 🙂

i totally agree i did not know a problem like this exist 😛 well if it was to happen to me i would be over hte moon!!

    Too curly?
I can’t believe that a problem like this exists!
I like the idea of using mascara on the other side of your lashes, it theoretically should weight them down. Might get alittle messy though.

Wow I wish I had too long and naturally curled lashes. JasmineGala’s suggestion to curl with an eyelash curler the other way sounds like a good solution. Amber674 I would love to know whether that has worked for you.

I have really long eyelashes too, they reach my eyebrows. It makes it really uncomfortable to wear glasses or sunglasses.

You could try using a piece of card to put against the mascara wand to stop it from touching your lids and then keep your eyes half closed until it’s completely dry. That’s what I do sometimes and it usually helps with keeping the mascara on my lashes only.

You can get eyelashes permed I think. Wonder if a good beautician could use the same technique to straighten them out a bit?

Thanks for all of your advice 🙂

I’m going to actually try and curl them the opposite way with my eyelash curler (I only own one because it was a free gift from Clinique!).

Why I have never thought of that before, I do not know haha.

Hopefully it isn’t too awkward for your wrist! let us know how it goes 🙂
