minimizing for travel

when you are travelling the last thing you want to do is take too much but you also dont want to get caught without something you really need.

What do you always pack and why?

i always make sure i have enough to survive a day without my luggage in my hand luggage, i always have clean underwear, make up, make up remover wipes, toothbrush and paste, clean socks, deodorant etc

my husband thinks i am being paranoid but what do you think….. and what do you pack in your hand luggage.

You are not paranoid, you are just worried. I am just like you. I can check the whole list a hundred times. I have a list of things I have to put in my suitcase. Especially, if we are flying on an airplane because there are restrictions. If I forget something, I can buy it later.

I`m not a big make-up wearer so prefer not to wear anything on the long haul flights (eg 12hours or more). Definitely take a facewasher though to refresh myself.
I definitely suggest taking a spare pair of undies in your carry on though. I recently travelled to Europe and had a 1 night stopover in Japan, unfortunately our luggage didn`t meet us in Japan and we weren`t re-united until Paris. I wasn`t keen on the idea of wearing new unwashed undies but defintely needed clean ones after that all that time so I had to wash them in the hotel hand basin with body wash and dry them using the hairdryer!!! A fun night! I can`t believe I forgot to pack spare ones in my carry on, I always have in the past.
I always keep small bottles from samples etc to re-use when I travel filled with all my favourite stuff.
Found a great product at a perfume shop too. It`s called an atomiser. You spray your perfume into it (using the provided mini funnel) to fill it up and then put the spray nozzle it comes with on top to have a mini prefume spray while you`re away. Great idea and wasn`t too expensive, around $10 I think. I now carry it in my handbag. It had enough perfume in it to last me my 8 weeks away!

i just got back from a 3 week tour of europe, and i have to say once again i hauled more crap than i needed to, but i would rather have too much than not enough. when i arrived in london it was freezing, good thing i took sunscreen, hat and sunnies!!! but all in all it was a great trip. unfortuneatly it was a work trip but i still had a good time and discovered some new thing and great places!!

i am however glad i took a spare pair of undies, tooth paste and makup in my hand luggage, on the trip from london to paris, my baggage got left behind and i had to wait 12 hours before it arrived. i also discovered that a pashimina is a nessecity on a long haul flight, you can rap it around you if you are cold use it to cover your clothes while you eat, and it folds down to almost nothing in the bag!

take sample products ther`re smaller and you`ll be able to take all the products you need i know palmers have their whole range available at the chemists for $2 saves taking a big bottle, you cou;ld also buy those mini bottle and put some of you shampoos etc in them to save space in your bag, normally i pack the same as you my mini travel brush too it folds down and has a wirror on the handle handy

I would probably refresh myself before I land, but either ither, does`nt really matter when u do it, and yes taking blotting papers is a good idea, if u are prone to shine.

It`s up to you whether you wear make up or not. I don`t personally because I find the air in the cabin dries my skin so much, so I just keep slathering on moisturiser. I usually apply just before we land – as I just want to get out of the airport and through customs when we land – also, that way my husband doesn`t have to wait for me either.

so do you or do yo not wear makeup on a flight? i don`t fly much, but i`m going to china with school this year (i think that`s an eight hour flight) and i have no clue what to do about makeup. i usually wear tinted moisturiser, lipgloss mascara and white eyeliner, but i get super shiny. do you apply it after you get off? or just before you land? should i just take blotting paper and hope for the best?
