Mascara for 10 year old concert tips

Hi Beauties.

Wanting to get some advice for applying mascara on my daughter.

She has her school concert coming up in a few weeks and has asked if she can wear some mascara for the night. I don’t allow her to wear makeup obviously being so young but happy to let her wear it for the night.

I know sharing makeup is unhygienic and her being so young I am a tad worried to use my mascara wand I use on her incase she gets a reaction.

What are some suggestion? Is it ok to just sterilise the current wand I use or that won’t make a difference being put back in the tube? Should I open a new mascara I have and use that instead?

Also what is the best way of applying it for those who have experience in doing other people’s makeup as I am sure her eyes will water and she will fidget not being used to having things near her eyes?

Lastly is waterproof mascara ok or will it damage her lashes?

Yes it is really long wearing, I had no issues with it smudging or anything.

One thing though about waterproof mascara, I tend to stay away from waterproof formulas because they really dry out my lashes and I generally always wind up with damaged lashes from struggling to remove it; some waterproof mascaras can be very stubborn to get off. I would use a long wearing formula instead honestly but if you do decide to go with a waterproof mascara for your daughter I recommend doing a primer first so the formula will not be so drying on her lashes.

They get damaged after applying once only? It will only be for a few hours. Not planning on going to go buy primer etc as not something I would normally use so would end up throwing out. Maybe a smudge proof or longwearing like you mentioned instead of waterproof? Is that maybelline one long wearing?

Tubing mascaras are great as they wash off with warm water, these are about the only types of mascara I can use for my sensitive eyes. No panda eyes and easy to remove.

Thanks. Any recommendation for a tubing mascara that is waterproof?

Maybelline Lash Sensational is a excellent tubing mascara, they have a waterproof version of it as well.

Would recommend that you buy a new mascara for your daughter as it would be unhygienic for her to use yours.
Make sure it is waterproof so it won’t smudge or come off would be awful to end up with smudges on her face.
Make sure that you use Micellar Water for waterproof makeup to remove it later on.

To apply just ask your daughter to look up you can use a spoon on her eyelids if you want to that will keep any eyeshadow Clean, and apply some to the bottom lashes.

Your Daughter will feel Special once made up she will look beautiful. Have a great time.

I would not risk using an opened tube of mascara on anyone. If you’re on a tight budget, buy a mascara that’s on sale at the supermarket. Your daughter might feel more comfortable applying the mascara herself; hopefully resulting in less fidgeting, watery eyes etc. Another alternative is to get her eyelashes tinted.

Thanks Petal. Budget is not an issue it`s more the application of it so she has no issues on the day is my main concern. Maybe I let her practice putting it on herself see if she is comfortable doing that beforehand.
