LIP LINER recommendations, please!

Recently I’ve noticed that my lips aren’t as pink or as defined as they used to be anymore 🙁

I’m looking for the perfect lip liner that…

  • is a ‘MLBB’ shade (e.g. light rose)
  • isn’t too nude / washes you out (light-medium, yellow undertone skin)
  • is able mimic natural, fuller looking lips
  • preferably retractable (doesn’t have to be if its great, I’m just lazy at sharpening!)
  • non drying & long wearing

Any price range. What are your fave lip liners?
Thank you lovelies! 🙂

Mine is as cheap as chips, Rimmel Exaggerated Lip Liner Eastend Snob. It is retractable and Priceline has them on sale for 1/2 price $6.48. I have a big stash and use it a couple of times a day, I guess I get 3 weeks to month out of it so it’s fabulous.

I am over wasting my money when I can find something that is amazing and cheap.

You must try Revlon’s lip liners. They are incredible. Won a few bh awards over the years

Here’s a question, do you ladies apply lip liner before or after the application of lip product.. I’ve seen on you tube ppl apply after sometimes.

RJI always do it before and I actually colour all of my lip in. I can`t stand obvious lined lips I like to get an even canvas and then add my top coat:)

OMG – a friend recommended that to me just the other day!! Chemist Warehouse has 50% off cosmetics atm, I went in store to play but totally forgot to swatch them because I`m always distracted by Maybelline/LOreal.

Gonna definitely have to play with them now since you and her both mentioned it! 😀

I love MakeUp Forever’s Aqua Lipliner in 2c and also MAC Whirl. The MAC one is a bit darker than my lip color however looks beautiful. If you’re on a budget, you can also try the lipliners from Essence, they aren’t very long lasting and need frequent sharpening but are nice.

I LOVE the Kylie Jenner Lip Liners that come in her kits! So creamy and easy to apply but also really easy to over draw which I love but its not always everyones thang.

Awesome! What`s your fave nude/pink shade? There are so many! They seem like they`d be amazing, since she`s known for her iconic lips after all!

I love essence satin mauve and soft berry. They are both kylie jenner type colours. Very soft and creamy and only $2 each. Soft berry is apparently similar to kat von d’s Lolita. It is great for fuller looking lips. It is darker and more brown than satin mauve, which can pull a bit grey. Hard to go wrong for $4! Nyx and Australis are good too.

I just wanted to let people know that if you are looking for a budget lip pencil with a firm consistency, then I would not recommend the lip pencils by Essence, even though almost everyone raves about them. I`ve bought them a few times in different shades and they were so soft that I used them up too quickly.

I used NYX lip pencils a few years ago – the style that need sharpening – and they were great.

I prefer pencils that require sharpening. So far, all of the retractable pencils that I`ve tried crumbled and broke, despite me being careful when using them.

I`ve purchased a few Essence ones myself. I`ll use them 2-3 times max and never reach for them again because, yes it requires sharpening too frequently, but I also can`t stand this weird pencil smell they have LOL.

I also really liked the old formula – too bad they changed it.
If it ain`t broke don`t fix it!
