Fake tan transfer

I love having a tan but I find that it stains my clothes and bed sheets leaving them with orange streaks and patches. Does anyone have any secrets to stop this happening?

Thanks in advance xx

Johnson and Johnson baby powder…. you’ll need a massive fluffy brush but it won’t stick to your tan and stops any tan transferring onto your sheets

I would suggest purchasing a tanzee, I bought one and it is amazing, just slips into your sheets like a sleeping bag!

I have always and will always use bondi sands, it has never stained my sheets or clothes but just leaves marks on white sheets hence I bought a tanzee. Maybe considering using a different fake tan? One that doesn’t stain 🙂

Showering before bed really helps… Or use sheets and clothes that won’t matter if they stain…

I never go to bed with tan still on, I always make sure I shower before bed. While waiting for it to develop fully, wear loose fitting clothing, and preferably clothing you don’t care too much about.

    Hey Grace!

To avoid streaky spots you need to make sure you cover all aeas, the only streaky tan is one thats missing ! Its easier to apply fake tan with a clean tanning mit, and a foaming tan (dries quicker too so i don’t go to bed sticky)!

If i am sleeping in tan i blow dry my body (not on hot) to dry the tan before bed. So it doesn’t transfer onto my bed sheets!
If i have any really sticky spots i put baby powder on them- i find this helps with under my under arms – just in case i sweat over night, and between my boobs!

I only ever do one coat at a time as well so it doesn’t take aaaages to dry!

Hey Grace, I normally just use gradual fake tanners (because I’m not very good at applying normal fake tan haha) so I don’t tend to have this problem but I did just read a bh article that mentioned this exact problem. Here is the relevant bit:

“Alternatively, the new Bondi Sands Liquid Gold is a dry tanning oil, which you can apply in the morning and dress practically straight after. It dries so quickly upon application and doesn’t feel sticky throughout the day. Then you simply shower before bed at night and your sheets will remain tan free!

Or if that’s still not an option for your schedule, try the St Tropez Gradual Tan In Shower. You can apply it every time you shower and you only need to leave it on for three minutes before washing it off. Use it every day after your body wash to slowly build up your sunkissed colour.”

So maybe it’s worth checking out the reviews on those two products? Here is a link to that article which links to those product reviews: https://www.beautyheaven.com.au/body-health/spray-tan-fake-tan/fake-tan-problems-solved.
