Recently having a very dull face. With some breakouts as well. I am 31. How to maintain a good youthful face. Any home remedies or any tried n tested creams, vitamins??
Shud i see a dermatologist???
I guess it depends on the person on whether they want to visit a dermatologist.
I've been going through a rough patch with my skin this month. I was tempted to go to a dermatologist but it's just too expensive at times. I've decided to try out home remedies and going organic when it comes to eating.
My diet has been really bad for a while. I had to do a complete 360 on my diet and change up my routine! I've been eating more greens and fruits everyday at work. It's honestly helped my with my hormonal breakouts.
I've also started taking SWISSE Ultiboost High Strength Organic Spirulina tablets during days I don't eat enough veges. Plus, drinking more water helps with freshening your skin!
Also, a low stress level will help with looking and feeling young! I've been doing yoga and meditation at work to calm myself and it's absolutely amazing!
I agree with Mayy's comment about diet. This time of year we all seem to hibernate and eat comfort food.
If you find upping your water intake difficult (like me) try Peppermint Tea and Green Tea. Green Tea is great for inflammation which sounds like what you have going on.
NW I think the dullness could be more of nutritional sense and I am sure your GP can help you . My sister in law had to see a dermatologist because she had severe dermatitis and they are dear because they are specialists. Also I find using a good cleanser/moisturiser might help. I was lucky to win the Racinne skincare set here and I am really curious if this brightening will help as I have dry skin with some blemishes on my cheeks which could be age or hormonal related. Just remember if you do use these products , keep out of the sun as it may do you more harm from what I have been told . Yes , heaps of water too ! Good luck
Great advice Harmony Queen!
I would love to know how Racinne goes! I've had a friend who keeps going on about it.
Mayy there is a website just on this brand and they said it takes 3 weeks to work so it will be exciting to see and I will review afterwards .:)
Oh look what I just found , a sponge for dull skin ( see pink one ) : https://www.nourishedlife.com.au/brand/life-basics-by-nourished-life.htm...
OMG! Thanks so much Harmony Queen!!! :) :) <3
Are you drinking enough water and getting enough sleep?
Hormonal changes can also make skin dry and dull.
I am in my 30s as well, and I have a skincare regimen that I follow religiously. Cleanse, tone, serum, facial oil and moisturiser.
Not having enough sleep.. i have a one year old...
I m really confused with which products to use for skincare regime...
Looking forward to reading the review on Racinne. Sounds good.
I also agree with drinking water. I drink warm water in the winter time instead of too many coffees. Used to it now and am sure it does help my skin.
I completely with too much coffee.
I decided to go on a 2 weeks break from coffee. I can genuinely say that my face looks more clear and I feel less stressed without all the caffeine in my body.
Definately drink more water. I use a gently exfoliator a few times a week and a face mask which helps. Exercise also helps increase circulation and give your skin a natural looking glow.
I am 26 and my skin was so dull and always breaking out, I couldn't catch a break!
Dull skin and breakouts have the same root cause that you need to address. A built up of dead skin cells and dry skin.
I started getting microdermabrasion and a peel every 3 weeks and the results have been amazing, the micrderm will get the dead skin off, it turn it'll unclog your pores which would be causing the breakouts, I always follow up with a mask, sometimes I do one that targets breakouts and sometimes to rehydrate my skin, your skin therapist should be able to let you know what peel would be best for you.
I now get this done every 4-6 weeks as my skin is now in great condition, brighter and I get far less breakouts.
I would also recommended looking into neostrata products, my dermatologist recommended these to me and they are great, they target the inbetween skin "the I am breaking out but worried about wrinkles skin"
Good look and I hope this help
Just wanted to ask - are microdermabrasions expensive? I've just been using a microdermabrasion scrub from Derma E which honestly helped with dead skin.
I want to look into booking myself in for microdermabrasion :)
As mentioned by some of the other beauties I wouldn't see a dermatologist. Try more water and definitely diet would have a big factor, if you're having alot of caffeine for example? And exfoliate. Try that first and then if no change maybe see a dermatologist? Good luck.
I think it's winter. It plays havoc on my skin too. I would suggest drinking more water, exfoliating and if you don't use one already, add an oil or serum into your skin care routine. Also hydraluronic acid is fantastic. I currently use one by The Ordinary and layer it under moisturiser but there are other brands such as Indeed Labratories.
I've been having the same problem this winter! In the last week or so I've added a new richer moisturiser to my routine (Environ's Super Moisturiser) and I've been really surprised by the results. My skin looks plumper and smoother. My skin had started to peel it was so dry.
I usually drink a lot of water a day, so that in conjunction with the new moisturiser has really been doing wonders!
I really feel that drinking this lends me more energy and vitality. Especially on days when I might be feeling tired.
I can't fault this product. I've been prone to oily hair since I was a teenager, so what I want from a shampoo is something that takes the oil away without drying my hair out.
This body wash has a very gentle and calming scent, which I really enjoy. The pump bottle is such great value! I love it.
