Dark Circles and eye bags!

Hey beauty lovers!

I have a beauty issue with my skin! i get dark circles quite often. I have tried many correctors, concealers, creams and night creams and I feel like some of them don’t work for me at all.

Can anyone recommend me an A grade beauty product that will help to reduce my eye bags and get rid of the dark circles!

THANKYOU EVERYONE

I agree with everyone else who has mentioned your best friend for dark circles will be a quality peach toned concealer – I find Benefit’s Boi-ing is terrific for this area & any other thing I try to conceal!

I found the only eye cream that has helped to get rid of my dark under eye circles is Lift and Lighten Eye Cream by Dr Dennis Gross. I got it from Mecca Maxima, hope this helps!

Try EYEVAGE cream from solvaderm brand which will improve brightness and luminosity, and lighten discoloration and dark circles and make your eye area skin smoother, softer, and healthier.

Mirenesse has really great products for eyes and face and I find that they’re really replenishing. I used the eye mask just a few days ago and it made me feel so much more refreshed and took away the tired eyes look.

The only thing Ive found that helps hide my dark circles is using a good quality eye gel to soften the area and keeping it from getting dry which makes the circles look more dreadful – I like using the CliniqueAll About Eyes Serum De-Puffing Eye Massager – Then follow it up with a highly pigmented under eye concealer such as the Revlon Photoready, MAC pro longwear concealer or the Glamouflage heavy duty concealer and topping it off with a loose powder. Unfortunately under eye circles are hereditary in most cases or caused by other internal body issues, so I find that covering it up works much better than stressing about ways to fix it, because there isnt one!

I hope you find something which helps, I have the same issue as well and have tried everything without success. My Mum has really puffy eye bags and mine seem to be getting worse as I get older, maybe it’s hereditary. Have tried numerous eye creams, cucumber, tea bags nothing really works for me unfortunately.

Ririii, I feel your pain. I have had dark circles ever since I was little — blame it on genetics. Unfortunately for me, there are no absolute fixes. I can drink as much water and sleep for a hundred years, my dark circles will still be as dark as they were in the beginning. Throughout the years of experimenting with makeup, I’ve been able to figure out the best way to cover them.

    1. Use a corrector. If you’re fair to light skinned, a peachy or pinky toned corrector will work. If you’re medium to tan, use an orange corrector. My personal favourite is the Giorgio Armani Master Corrector #2 — the orange shade. It’s thin and lightweight but corrects the darkness like nothing else and I’ve tried other correctors on the market. Apply a thin layer of your corrector on your dark circles concentrating mostly in the very inner corners where the shadows are usually the darkest.

    2. Conceal. Pick a concealer that matches your skintone or is one shade lighter. Don’t go too light with your concealer or you could risk 1. Looking ashy, 2. Further highlighting your dark circles. Apply your concealer in a downwards triangle and blend well. Keeping your concealer concentrated only on your dark circles will also further emphasise them.

    3. Set your concealer. I prefer to set my concealer with a very light dusting of a translucent powder to lock in the product and to prevent creasing from happening. My favourite is the Laura Mercier Tanslucent. Loose Setting Powder.

    4. Top with a brightening powder. Since I’m more on the medium to tan side, I use a yellow toned powder to brighten the area. Bare Minerals Well Rested, Anastasia Banana Powder, Ben Nye Banana Powder and MAC Soft Focus are all great at brightening the under eye area.

Contouring also helps to create/add more contrast if you have dark circles. This is an extra step that may not be for everyone/everyday but you could always give it a try.

If your dark circles are not due to genetics, meaning some days they’re not as dark or may even be hardly visible, then your diet might need a bit of tweaking. Hydrate yourself well and make sure to get enough hours of sleep every night. You can also try some DIY eye masks to help alleviate the problem. Cucumbers, tomatoes, green tea bags, etc. are all excellent at de puffing and brightening the area to a certain extent. You could also try those eye masks that a lot of Korean and Japanese skincare brands seem to have. Glamglow also do one but I’ve not tried that one as of yet.

In terms of eye creams, I find that a lot of them are more moisturising than anything. Don’t get me wrong, a good moisturising eye cream is essential in my opinion. I just haven’t found an eye cream that helped with the darkness. The Perricone MD Acyl Glutathione Eye Serum tightens and firms the eye area (no more droopy eyes) but I don’t find it particularly effective in minimising dark circles (then again, I may not be the best candidate for this since mine are due to my genetic makeup). This product is really pricey and needs to be used in conjunction with a moisturising eye cream.

I know I had written a ridiculously long response but hopefully some of these points help you out in dealing with your dark circles.

I don’t have very dark circles most of the time, but when I do I find them so hard to cover up, all the concealers just seem to accentuate the puffiness and lines and draw more attention to the area. I usually just end up trying to compensate with more dramatic liner/lashes to hopefully make the darkness seem less by comparison and draw the focus up. I really appreciate my thick glasses frames on those days too as they hide a good amount of it!
