Advice needed for spray tanning breakout prone skin

Hi

I’m hoping someone can help me – I’m going to get a spray tan this evening and I’m having a bit of a dilemma. I have oily/breakout prone skin and I have been breaking out a bit over the past couple weeks on my face/neck and on my back. It’s not really bad, just a few red spots here and there. I’ve never had full blown acne or anything like that but this hot/humid weather definitely doesn’t do it any favours.

Anyway – I was supposed to get my spray tan last week but postponed it for a week in the hopes that my skin might have cleared up by now but unfortunately it seems that I’m stucks with these spots. Short of cancelling my appointment, I’m just wondering if anyone can offer advice about how to care for my skin while I have a spray tan to ensure that my breakout doesn’t get worse.

The place I go to use St Tropez and last time they used the formula which you need to leave on for 8 hours to fully develop and I’ve read that that is the best one as the ‘express’ one basically washes off? I’m more concerned about my face than my body really and in the past when I’ve gotten spray tans the tan usually comes off my face first as basically all of the products I use are anti-breakout/anti-acne and contain salicylic acid or glycolic acid. So I’m wondering if it would be weird to skip the face all together and maybe just wear a BB cream or something to try and match my body?

Otherwise, has anyone ever had the express tan on their face that you can wash off after a few hours? At least then it would give my face a bit of colour and I wouldn’t have to sleep in it. I’m not sure if St Tropez is non comedogenic either so I’m not sure if it will clog my pores.

Help please!!

Hi there, I had similar problems and then I switched to an organic and my skin is now in great condition. The tan is beautiful and lasts like commercial fake tans – the brand is Zuii and I swear by it!

Sorry I only read this now! I often don’t fake tan my face. I don’t like the product sitting on my skin. So it’s conpletely normal to skip the face.

I know you’ve already had your spray tan mc1990 and sorry no one has seen your new forum to help you out.

Until a comment is made on a new forum it doesn’t appear when LATEST COMMENTS search is used – which most of us use.

I hope someone can help you out for next time tho!
