Adult acne – going nuts.

Hello beauties. I have a dilemma. At 34 years old, I have developed acne along my cheeks and jawline, sometimes all the way down to my neck. It is red and inflamed and often does not have a head on it. As a teen I had acne along the t-zone, but this cleared up a little as I got older and was fully gone after I started on the pill age 20.

A bit more info: About 18 months ago, I weaned my last baby and made the switch from mini-pill to the full type. About 4 months after I did that, this acne started. I have gone crazy trying to work out what is going on. I have changed brands about 4 times, to no effect. I have also gone completely off the pill for 6 months, but all this did was encourage my body acne to return. The doctor prescribed Doxy, which I took for a week, then stopped as it was causing some joint pain.

I really really miss my clear skin. I have no idea what has brought this on. 10 years of pregnancy, breastfeeding, going on and off the pill in between was all fine, until the last one.

Seriously frustrated. Any ideas?

Besides teenagers, acne affects adults as well. Mild adult acne consists of blackheads, whiteheads, or small pustules. While the moderate form includes papules which cover most of the face or the body. An adult suffering from acne may experience redness, irritation, swelling, and deep cyst. The common cause of acne in adults are inflammation and clogged pores. Sometimes, hormonal imbalance, emotional stress, physical stress, bacterial infection, poor diet, and use of certain medications may contribute to adult acne. Fortunately, there is a variety of treatment available at reliablerxpharmacy.com for adult acne, including creams to gels. You can buy the best that suits your condition and skin type. A dermatologist will help determine which might works better for you.

Apply apple cider with vinegar. What about the vegan beauty products? Have ever tried natural beauty products other than the chemical beauty products?

I saw on the Elf makeup website about a specially formulated acne fighting foundation. I haven’t tried it, but thought it might be worth posting here. The ingredients sound like it could help fight acne issues whilst covering up.

I would try nutrogena! But not the acne range. I have found that the best face wash for me, has been their blue foaming face wash in like a matte blue bottle. In after about 2 weeks of usage, my face was clear! (Except for scars left over from picking and popping prior use). But honestly, give it a go. It’s affordable and effective for me and might be the same for u!!

    Adult acne…ugh!!

It’s the pits isn’t it?! At 28 years of age, I had to see a derm and took antibiotics for years. I had to stop after a few years as being on ABs for that long was taking a toll on my health. Luckily the acne never returned anywhere near as bad as it was until recently that is…

I am 35 and have only just got this under control again. And it was bad. BAD 🙁 I was taking multivitamins (and other vitamins) – but after reading that B Vitamins can significantly worsen hormonal acne – I stopped taking all vitamins and low and behold…the cystic acne on my chin and jawline stopped! So did the spots on my forehead.

Around the same time I stopped the vitamins, I started using Cliniques Anti Blemish Bar which I follow up with Hydrating Jelly. Works a treat!! I also use The Ordinary’s Salicylic Acid in the morning and Niamincide at night.

This worked for me…I literally have one zit on my face right now and it’s teeny. I’m very happy that I didn’t end up needing a derm this time, same with meds. In 2011, absolutely nothing worked but the Meds and it took months before I saw a difference.

Whatever treatment route you take, I hope it works as the physical and emotional pain acne has is very real. Good luck xo

I know how difficult and exhausting having skin issues can be. It not only affects you physically, but can also be mentally draining and upsetting. My advice would be to make sure you properly remove any sunscreen or make up you have applied throughout the day. I personally believe in using some sort of pre cleanse prior to actually cleansing your skin. Avoid using a lot of different products, try sticking to a more simpler skincare routine. Also, try to avoid products containing fragrance and alcohol. Both of these ingredients can be problematic and cause further problems.
