A healthy body is the perfect body.

I have a chronic illness and I would trade my body (that fits in the box of what is “conventionally attractive”) for any other if it functioned properly and let me live a normal life.

The perfect body is one that can get you through each day, let you do the things you want and need to do, and take you where you want to go.

Sorry this isn’t really relevant to the topic but this quote made me happy so I thought I should share it, “Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky” -Rabindranath Tagore

I have totally no idea what is the perfect body. There are so many types of body shape. But if follow the social ranking surely now the trend is to have a slim figure or have a gym body (you know what I mean).

All and all, I still feel that loving your body is the top priority. Stay healthy and that’s good enough. This is just something that I personally feel.

I feel as long as a person eats quite healthy and gets some excersise a few times a week then they have the perfect body for them.
We are all different shapes. No matter how hard we try some cant be curvy and some will never be rake thin . It’s unrealistic and unhealthy to try and make that possible.
I’m naturally the size of a 12 year old lol and would love some more curves but we all just need to be comfortable with who we are and accept our own unique shapes.

The key to happiness for me, when it comes to body image and self-esteem, is truly honestly realizing that it isn’t about living up to anyone else’s expectations, it’s about health and self-care.

Of course I don’t do smith machine squats at the gym for my inner beauty… it’s not that simple – I do it to feel strong, I do it to feel challenged, I do it to take control over my body and to feel empowered, regardless of results (or lack thereof).

I think the perfect body is a body that is loved, cared for and embraced for what it is. Whether your shape is curvy or skinny. Just take honest good care of yourself. That includes working out because we were not built to sit at desks all our lives – we are animals who belong in nature, too… so if you can’t have a lifestyle where you go hiking in nature, go to the gym and get on the treadmill. That’s a matter of not denying your body to do what it was made for – and not giving in to the modern idea of hiding in our caves with all our shallow comforts.

What comes to mind for me right now is Trisha Paytas (a YouTuber) who is a bigger girl and made so many videos about accepting yourself and celebrating being thick and now she’s just had a breakdown because her boyfriend called her fat and she realized how much she hates herself… I think her body and shape are BEAUTIFUL! But they are not coming from a place of self-love, and so she cannot enjoy who she is. Does that make ANY sense? I’m trying to go somewhere with it but the road is long and windy…. it’s about finding a balance between comforting yourself and being honest with yourself without allowing self-hate to jump on board!

Shape and size does not matter. More important to feel happy.

On a similar note, Joyce Carpati once said “It’s a natural process to get older… What we have to do is look as lovely as we can at every age. You shouldn’t try to look younger, just look as lovely as you can whatever age you are.”

Words I’ll live by. All that matters to me is that I’m healthy and happy.

Doctors have guidelines, they don’t go by aesthetics, they go by medical statistics. If you’re overweight by a few kilograms, your risk rate for cancer, heart disease & other things all increase. If you’re what doctors refer to as obese, your likelihood of your weight affecting your health is increased. Similarly, being underweight by too much can affect your health too. Did you know that many anorexics put themselves at risk of heart problems?

I believe we should all aim to fall into what OUR DOCTOR, who knows our medical history, tells us is a healthy range for us.

Fashion designers all hire super skinny women to model their clothes. It would improve the self-esteem of many if the chosen models had the physiques of professional athletes or Olympians. Swimmers, sprinters, marathon runners & gymnasts all have different physiques, yet all are at the peak of health & physical fitness. From the tall, top-heavy swimmers to the short, lean & wiry gymnasts, all so different, yet all “perfect”.

If impressionable young women become gym junkies, this is still better for their health than being medically obese, or anorexic. Obesity causes premature death & anorexia kills.

I confess I need to lose some weight, but more importantly, I need to improve my fitness. My priority is improving my health.

I agree with the previous answers. A healthy body is the perfect body. A few years ago I was a lot smaller than I am now, a healthy size 8 – 10 and I was never happy with my body. I got sick and struggled with fibromyalgia, amongst other things, and gained a lot of weight and now I just appreciate how wonderful it is to not be in pain (on my good days!). Even though I am bigger now, and I am actively trying to lose weight, my attitude towards my body has changed and I appreciate it much more than I used to :). Health is everything.

A healthy body is the perfect body in my opinion. No matter you’re shape, size or age. A good and well portioned diet and a good dose of regular exercise makes a perfect body.

I think there’s a lot of jealously out there causing the shaming and negativity, but what is really needed is empowerment to others, and being proud of others who are feeling proud of themselves and to do the same for ourselves.

Women’s bodies are amazing. They can grow new humans and feed them too. If a woman feels like her boobs look fantastic, and she’s got the confidence to put them on show, all the empowerment to her.
