Air purifier and salt lamps

Hey guys,
I’ve been suffering a lot of Athsma this year mor than most and been getting a cough to go along with it. I’m wondering if anyone had used salt lamps and have found they have helped prevent it? Or air purifiers to help clean the air? What are your thoughts?

I absolutely love my salt lamp! And certain plants do the exact same thing too!

I suffer from bad hayfever and have thought about getting an air purifier too. A few people I know have used salt lamps and have said they are effective.

i don’t know about salt lamps. but you can get those HEPA filters for room use, they use that in hospitals.
my cousins use that in malaysia when the air quality is bad, they say it does show a difference.

My husband is asthmatic so I brought a salt lamp for him a few months ago. It started to work but not much. I made sure I vacuumed twice weekly and brought some house plants as well. That all helped a lot

When I got married we thanked the mums and said we had a little gift for them – both were expecting bouquets but we brought out Mother-in-Law’s Tongues for them! My mum’s face was priceless (with laughter!). And we did give them bouquets too.

I’m asthmatic too, it’s so common in Australia. My sister’s childhood friend died from asthma. I don’t know much about salt lamps, but I know how important it is to use a preventer EVERY DAY, even when I’m well. With the appropriate dosage of preventer, I rarely use my Ventolin, yet I keep one in my hand bag & also next to my bed. There are a few HUNDRED people every year who die from asthma in Australia. Use a peak flow meter regularly & get to the doctor if the readings start to decrease. Take asthma seriously!

The plant I believe clearcrystalwater was referring to is called mother-in-law’s tongue. Some other helpful plants are referenced here: http://www.mnn.com/health/healthy-spaces/photos/15-houseplants-for-improving-indoor-air-quality/a-breath-of-fresh-air
