Sportswear

Hi all

I’m looking for some affordable sites that sell cute sportswear – things along the lines of Lorna Jane / Lululemon etc.

I’d love to hear where everyone gets their sportswear from and any suggestions!

I have a heap of the kmart leggings and i LOVE them. So comfy and affordable!

Facebook buy swap sell groups are pretty good. If there’s a brand you like, such as Lorna Jane, type in “Lorna Jane buy swap sell” and a group will come up. I’ve sold a few things using these groups and people pay using paypal. You can get some great bargains!

Cotton on Body have really great affordable gym wear that actually lasts a fair while!!

Although if you’re looking to spend a little more, Lorna Jane is my go to! The items last years!

I don’t spend a lot on exercise clothing but I can recommend the Michelle Bridges Range from Big W. I have some of her running shorts and 3/4 leggings. They’re comfy, wash well, look great and are good value for money. I’ve never paid over $35 for a pair of her leggings. The sizes are quite small though. I’m petite and I take a size 10 in her range of leggings and shorts. The bottoms seem to be smaller than her tops. The tops in an 8 look big. I’ve also bought a hestia sports bra from Big W which was about $30.

I am a bit of an exercise and gym freak so have plenty of clothing options to choose from. The Michelle Bridges line in Big W is really good quality gym wear. Target stuff is also nice. My favourite place for tights is Cotton On Body because they always have super cute gym tights. I also like Blockout’s range of gym clothes super comfy tights. I mostly wear shorts though and my favourites are Lorna Jane and Nike. For tops I hit stores like Factorie at this time of year. I prefer working out in singlets and they have heaps of singlets on sale in their stores at the moment. I picked up 5 the other day for $4.95 each. For sports bras I love Victoria’s Secret but then again I love everything VS! I also love their gym wear. For sports bras here I usually wear Berli and depending what singlet I have on if I need a crop top because of a low neckline or see thru ness then I have crop tops from Target. Hope this was useful for you

I play tennis and we order our clothes from http://www.tenniswarehouse.com and you can get lots of stuff that’s not available in Australia although some brands can’t be sent direct to Australia. The postage is OK and the more you get the better it works out so it’s even cheaper if you split an order with friends.

I actually watched an online video just a couple of days ago (I think it was from A Current Affair) and they were quality testing sportswear. Kmart and Big W actually ranked higher than the big brands.

I have some sports bras/crop tops and yoga pants from Victoria’s Secret and I’m really happy with them. The prices themselves are not bad, but the shipping is quite high. I don’t know what their problem is – many other US retailers have found a way to get their international shipping rates down, but VS is still high. Anyway, I wait until they have their $25 off a $150 purchase, $50 off a $200 purchase, or $75 off a $250 purchase (or whatever it is) so the discount covers the cost of shipping.

I don’t know of any sites that sell genuine LJ or Lululemon clothing. I generally buy from them when they have sales on, or they have great Active Packs. LJ has a Be Happy Sale on in store at the moment.

Thanks Lucrecia for mentioning the Victoria Secret Sales, I’ve been wanting to buy from them for ages but the postage is ridiculous. I don’t know why I never though of buying when they have $25 off $150 etc, that would make up for the postage! Thanks for bringing that to my attention! 🙂

I don’t do any high intensity workouts or anything but I bought a heap of Lorna Jane stuff for travelling/hiking and they are worth every cent. The quality is really good. I especially love the flashdance pants / shorts / 3/4s. And the Pammy bra is one of the most comfortable bras that I own (it has a great shape too so under clothes people can’t tell its a sports bra).

But the main reason I love them is that their pants actually fit! So many companies only start at a S and it fits like a large (I’m looking at you Kathmandu!)

I used to get all mine from target – til I bent over in front of the mirror during a circuit class once and figured out why my leggings were so cheap.

Now I’m a Lorna Jane addict (but Lorna Jane onsale…) I just love their leggings (and yup, I’ve done the mirror thing again, just to be sure!) and their loose singlets.

I’ve heard good things about Kmart though and will have to check them out.

Wow that’s awesome Kmart is up there, Kmart have been doing quite a bit of campaigning lately with their new sportswear lines.
