Prescription Weight loss medication

Hi all, I was just wondering if any of you have or do have a weight problem and have used weightloss medication as an aide. Im not talking about over the counter pills with no proven effectivness. Im referring to prescribed medication that you discuss with a doctor. First of all I have a bit of weight to lose to get to a healthy BMI, I know I have to eat healthy and exercise, I know fad diets do not work. But I have read there are medications that decrease your appetite and increase your energy. Im not looking for a quick fix, just some advice from anyone that has tried this sort of medication.

I had to lose weight for an operation , the Dr prescribed duromine, I lost 20 kg in 2 months , then used it for another 2 weeks to stop me eating while my throat healed. I easily went off them and never used them again. I think if you have a addictive personality , I’d be warey of them .

As an avid juicer, I love starting out my mornings with a juice I created with my own blend of fruits and veggies. Not only is it detoxing, but it’s a great way to get a daily serving of greens into your system. The best part is the cost for the amount of produce and fruits you buy is in your control and can range as little as $20 a week.

I took Metermine/Phentermine 30mg which I believe is the same as Duromine for a month. It took away my appetite instantly but the only side effect was a dry mouth which seemed to bring on heartburn which I did already suffer from. I loved that I had no interest for food but decided not to go onto a second course. I probably dropped a few kgs and believe it is a good kickstart to weightloss but not for the long term.

Goodluck, I am also trying to do the same thing. I have concerns about side effects though.

Hello Sarahly! I am on this forum for about 2 weeks and I have been chatting to so many guys about weight loss. I just try to find someone who says “yes this pill is good and it will help you”. So many different opinions good and bad and I really don’t know what to try. Many discuss here about Phentermine and its alternative, but I read myself that it is for obese people. I don’t thinks I am obese as my height is 169 and my weight is 72. So I am just looking for some good pill or drink that will help me to lose a bit of weight.

I have heard that all weight loss medication. Have side effects. The safest way to lose weight is to do exercise, drink plenty of water and include the food which can boost your metabolism.
