Ingrown Toenail

Hi guys! Just wondering if anyone has any tips to prevent ingrown nails? Lately my big toe is so prone to them. I have pedicures & she cuts it out but oh man it is painful!! & it comes back! I’ve been googling but have had no success so far. If you have any suggestions I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

That’s what I thought! Oh… So half nail took a year for you? I guess I have six more months! Oh dear!! Well… I’m 40… I take good supplements for my teeth and nails… I care for my feet as much as I can. I will try to be more patient. Thanks for the info Kassalee! (Hope it doesn’t take eight years!! Haha!!)

Oh no! Belindarella what a long time.
My son had one done (day surgery) and the other done the following year but I don’t remember how long it took for nail to grow back – was 8 years ago!

But I did have a bad big toenail (psoriasis) last December and told it would take 6 months to grow out (only top half of nail) and it’s only just grown out – so more like 11 months for 1/2 nail. Does nail growth slow down with age? Not for you! But I’m 58.

My podiatrist has now done the surgery on both toenails.. I’m just waiting to heal… fingers crossed this is the end of this saga when the last one finally heals!

I can’t stress enough how important it is to be very careful when cutting nails, Nails and feet can become easily infected causing much pain and can be difficult to heal. Nails should be cut straight across and not too short. It will keep coming back as long as it is cut incorrectly. Many people who do pedicures have no idea what they are doing and can do more harm than good. If you are still having problems, please see a good podiatrist.
