Winter haircare

Will love to hear your different haircare routines during winter. I struggle with this year after year.

My hair tends to get quite dry in winter and I find what helps a lot is replacing my normal conditioner with a hydrating hair mask and I try to reduce the amount of heat styling I do. All through the year though I make sure to only dry my hair with a microfibre towel and sleep on good quality pillowcases to avoid damaging my hair. Also I love hair oils just to give my hair an extra boost of moisture, however if you have fine hair you may find they weigh your hair down too much xx.

I love this mask from Briogeo- https://www.beautybay.com/haircare/briogeo/dontdespairrepairdeepconditioningmask/?ctyid=au&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI_s28m_KY3AIVUI6PCh0QcgXtEAQYBSABEgIHAvD_BwE

Hi cdbeauty, I`ve not heard about drying with a microfibre towel. Will have to check that out. Thanks for your suggestions.

You can buy a microfibre hair towel, but I prefer a Kmart microfibre gym towel. They`re 120 x 60cm & only $4. My hair is waist-length & it dries MUCH quicker if I wear a microfibre towel turban while I get dressed & do my makeup. I`ve got two proper hair towels & about four Kmart gym towels: the gym towels are better because they`re just a little bigger. They`re highly absorbent – providing you DON`T use fabric softener when you wash them.

Hi misfortune8, Thank for this. Who knew; I have lots of Kmart gym towels already. I`ll test it out. 🙂

GeeJ, you have commented on your thread; probably so that people can read it and give you feedback. You will have a better chance of receiving help if you give members information as to what your hair type is, products that did not work, hair issues you’re having specific to the cold weather, what your budget is etc. Is your question about hair issues in the cold weather, or is it about how to look after your coloured hair?

Thanks for your reply Petal. It is how to look after my coloured hair during winter. I really struggle with this.
