Toning down foils

Hi beauties!
It’s been a while since I’ve been active here but I knew you ladies might have some suggestions.
I had some highlights done on my natural mid brown hair on Friday night. I asked for 1/4 head and showed pictures for the subtle effect I was after to enhance my natural tones.
Hairdresser went ahead and did 1/2 head of two tones, one a caramel/gold tone that complimented quite well but then also a really bright (almost white) blonde. I was quite shocked when she dried it off, it was super bright and just quite intense. I mentioned it was more than what I’d expected, so Saturday morning went back and they did a 9.3 toner (whatever that means) and it has certainly toned down the intensity and brightness, but it still feels like a lot going on!
Is there a way I can correct this a bit more on my own without going in with a box dye? I don’t really want to go back again to admit I still don’t love it…
I thought perhaps those shampoos designed for brunettes? Would that help tone it down more and blend it?
Please no judgement! I hadn’t coloured my hair in a lonnnnng time and I thought this salon did a great job last time.
Thanks!

Yep I agree with Margi , a blue toning shampoo and conditioner is what you need, blue neutralizes the brassy tones on brown hair.

Beauty_Jem Would suggest that you use a Blue Shampoo and Conditioner to tone down the brassy look of the foils.

Look for Shampoo and Conditioner like this brand Matrix Total Results Brass Off Shampoo because blue shampoos can be used in brown hair, don’t buy Purple Shampoo and Conditioner because these are only for blondes and platinum hair.

Ask for Blue Shampoo and Conditioner at your favourite beauty store or pharmacy.

There is such a high volume of spam at the moment, I’m not sure if members have seen Beauty_Jem‘s post … which is why I’m bumping her thread. Hopefully someone can help her.
