To fringe, or not to fringe?

Hey Beauties,
Has anyone ever been daring enough to take the plunge and get a fringe?
Also, have you loved or hated it, and what made you decide to do it?

I’ve had a fringe for nearly all of my life, so I can only have certain hairstyles, so I feel like I’m missing out on the whole “trying something new, so I’ve cut a fringe”
I’ve had friends who have done it, and none of them kept it for longer than a month cos it didn’t suit them

As far as I can remember I never had a fringe in my life but I have always liked looking at people with fringe that suits them.

I’ve had a fringe for most of my life. Mum used to cut it when I was a kid then I took over – Mum would always cut it too short trying to even it up. With my long, narrow face, a fringe suits me. I grew it out twice at the dictate of fashion. It looked awful both times.

A funny thing: I’ve got oily hair & oily, blemish-prone skin. You’d think that having a fringe would give me terrible zits on my forehead, but that’s the only place I don’t get them! I think my hair mops up my forehead oil. (?)

Sometimes, I just shampoo my oily fringe & I can go another day before having to wash my hair.

I currently have a side fringe, I just cut it myself because I always tuck it behind my ear, so it doesn’t matter if it’s not even. I did have a regular fringe in the past and I always had to straighten it because it would look odd wavy. The maintenance was a pain, but I would consider one again in the future, especially when my forehead lines deepen, lol.

Oh I love my fringe and do change it up with the way its cut, I have it different lengths, shaggy , wavy and highlighted brushed to the side or heavy full-on. I love that it covers my over plucked brows and the signs of aging. It frames my face and I think its softer !

I used to have a fringe and hated it lol it did not suit me at all. I haven’t had one for 10+ years, I wound up growing it out.

I had a fringe once and hated it!!! It made my face look 6 feet wide!!! Ha ha!!! Won’t ever have one again!!! I do love them on other people though…

I’ve had a fringe now for the last 12 or so years! I never had one since I was about 5, but about 12 years or so ago a had a small lipoma pop up smack bang in the middle of my forehead, so I got a fringe to cover it up. I got the limpoma removed a few years later, but the fringe has stayed. Funnily I was thinking about growing it out since it does get a bit annoying come summertime but I’m too used to myself with a fringe now.
I am guilty of trimming it myself from time to time, when it gets really crooked I have to go sheepishly to my hairdresser and get told of lol.

I’ve had a fringe on & off since childhood. The last time I had one was about 10 years ago & although I liked it, the maintenance really put me off having one ever again. (I had Lily Allen’s hairstyle & fringe from the video clip for her song The Fear – it was the only time that an ex-hairdresser of mine ever cut my hair exactly the way I wanted it.) I even tried trimming it myself once & I should’ve known better because my cutting skills are not the best to begin with. It was a disaster!

I’ve thought about getting a curtain fringe recently but knowing that I’ll have to style it is the one thing that’s holding me back from getting one cut in, plus I’ve never liked having hair loose around my face either. I do like the look of fringes & I know they suit my wide forehead, but luckily for me I also suit no fringe too. I’d love to buy a decent clip-in fringe though.

I alternate between a fringe and no fringe every so often LOL. Straight fringe no longer suits me if I do one I get a side fringe but no fringe atm.

I had a fringe a while back as it suited me but not having a fringe also suited me too so either way I was happy. At the moment I don’t have a fringe-my fringe as it is has grown out & now it is like the rest of my hair, I haven’t been to the hairdressers in age’s & don’t intend to go anytime soon unless I’m gonna put a new colour in my hair & get that done at the same time. I’m happy being a brunette at the moment 🙂
