Products for Frizzy hair!

Hi everyone,
I have very long, very thick hair. After a wash I usually use garnier sleek and shine straightening balm before blow drying and it makes my hair look fantastic. However as soon as it’s brushed it turns back into a frizzy mess and I have to pull out the hair straightener to tame it. Does anyone know of any good products that could tame this head of seemingly untameable mess??
Thanks!

100% pure argan oil is amazing! When looking for this product make sure that is its more ratio argan oil than any other ingredient like alcohol. Alcohol is not great for the heait so this rule applies to all hair products. But I have started using pure argan oil and it has done absolute wonders for my hair as it is brittle, broken and frizzy. So along with taming the frizz it actually nourishes your hair! 🙂 Hope this helps.

I have this problem too, particularly with flyaways. Lots of products I have tried just give that greasy look. I don’t mind the Eversleek oil treatment by Loreal, but again, you can’t use much before your hair looks oily.

      Hi there Kar148,
The garnier fructis triple nutrition nutrient spray is amazing for helping with fly aways, it contains avocado, olive and almond oils and is suppose to protect and repair dry and damaged hair. I liked it because it was spray bottle and really easy to use (and smelt soooo good), it didn`t help much with frizz but it was great for the little fly aways. Just be careful again because you can`t use too much before it makes your hair look

The John Frieda range has helped me also, I’ve used other products and tried not to use anything with silicones in them, because apparently they are’nt good for your hair with build-up problems etc… but they don’t help, so silicones it is!
Coconut oil can help also but it’s very hard to get just the right amount without ending up with a greasy look,

I have tried coconut oil but ended up with hair that looked good but felt really greasy. I also worried about my hair burning if I decide to go back and straighten it before I wash the oil out.

I have thin frizzy hair that tends to get lots of flyaways. The best I’ve found so far is Moroccan oil. I just use a small drop and rub my hands together and sleek over my hair. It has helped. Good luck!

I really liked Orofluido elixir for my hair 🙂 it tamed frizz and flyaways and also worked as a heat protector for when I used my straightener. It wasn’t too heavy either, but it may be a bit pricey (not sure if there are online discounts but I bought mine when there was a sale).

I’ve seen people rave about a product Moo Goo make on Facebook. I think it’s aimed at curly hair but if it’s amazing on curly hair imagine it on straight.

I fi d a bit of dry shampoo in straightened hair gives it a bit more grip for light shaping and stops flyaways. Worth a shot and it’s cheap.

Thanks for your reply Jodib, I would prefer not to have to straighten it, just because I have so much of it and it`s so long. It would be great if I could keep my curls without the frizz. I will have to see if I can track down and get my hands on a bottle of moo goo. I will keep you all posted.
      Thanks!

Definitely worth checking out. I use the Revlon heat protect (or something like that!) shampoo and conditioner as well which also seems to make a difference.

But so many possible things that might work or might just waste your money makes it really hard!

    Keep us posted 🙂

Thanks for the input Dilettante, I will have to have a look into this Anti Frizz serum!

My hair has a lot of natural kink to it and can’t decide if it’s straight or curly. And frizz is just part of the fun. I’ve had a lot of styling success lately with the John Frieda Anti Frizz pre treatment serum and the GHD air hairdryer.

I never thought a pricey hairdryer was worth it until I got this one- it really does make all the difference.

Would be interested to hear what other beauties might recommend as well!

I`ve also noticed that a quality hairdrier also makes a huge differnce to frizz.
I haven`t used a hair drier in about a year but previouly I had a decent one which broke but I didn`t have the money at the time to get a new one so got a cheap one (about $20 from $25 on sale) and my hair turned into a nightmare, then I won a really good one on BH and just chucked the cheaper one since I wasn`t going to let anyone else suffer with that one.

Dilettante, I need to say thank you, thank you, thank you. I went out and bought the John Frieda Frizz Ease Serum and it`s literally one of my best friends. My hair is noticeably less frizzy as well as much easier to tame and brush. This product is literally a godsend. Next I will have to try their shampoo and conditioner as well. It`s slightly more pricey then the one I am using at the moment but I have full confidence that it will be worth it. Thanks!
