Tea tree shampoo from Paul Mitchell is really great. I use it once every 2 weeks to remove my build up 😉

I bought the clarifying shampoo, should be getting it soon.

Half a litre for under $11. No SLS & nasty ingredients.

    UPDATE
Since i last posted this on 12 May, we have used about 1/4 of this 475ml shampoo.
    Our verdict

it smells good, foams up well despite not having SLS and best of all cleans really good!
my partner and i both agree that we love this shampoo… he uses it every day and it works for his oily scalp.
doesn’t dry my bust length hair either.

    i rate it ♥♥♥♥♥ (out of 5)

    What shampoo are you using?

Hi. I use a deep cleansing shampoo (tresseme). Also, I do a Apple cider vinegar wash once a fortnight. I mix 1 part Apple cider vinegar and 1 part water in a spray bottle and spray on my scalp and hair and massage. Leave it on for a few minutes and wash it off. It cleanses the scalp by getting rid of product build up and makes my hair shiny too.

I have used Paul Mitchell’s cleansing shampoo and it worked wonders, my hair is really long, super think and just holds onto product. I used this product regularly with treatment to protect the ends now I use it just before I have my hair coloured.

    Welcome becg97 🙂

Thanks for the tip. Will try Redwin. Will double check if there is any SLS.

Using a clarifying shampoo would help, but good ones can be pretty expensive. If you are looking for a cheaper option the Redwin tea tree shampoo is pretty good, though it doesn’t smell very nice

Use a clarifying shampoo to remove product build up.

I agree with sunjeanie, use hair products which don’t contain sulfates or parabens.

I’m currently using Natures Organics shampoo and conditioner for colour treated hair. You can buy it at supermarkets it’s about $4 a bottle and lasts for ages.

Try not using so many products with lots of silicones in them. That made a difference for me. Natural or organic shampoos/conditioners won’t have them, but some ordinary shampoos and conditioners can sometimes exclude them too. Just check the packaging.

I use the Natures Organics hair care range in ‘normal’. I’ve left a link to the bh page, where I’ve also left a review. I never get product build up from using this shampoo and conditioner. It’s super inexpensive too and my hair always looks great.

Hi Budgie1: clarifying or deep cleansing shampoos are great for this. They’re clear, not creamy. I use TRESemmé Deep Cleansing Shampoo, listed on bh here: http://www.beautyheaven.com.au/hair/shampoo/6707-tresemm-deep-cleansing-shampoo
Use it weekly, or whenever you feel like you’ve got product buildup.

I don’t recall seeing you on the forum before,
