Maui Moisture

So I was doing my usual Priceline stalking (heh) the other day and noticed this new haircare brand. Did a little digging and now I’m obsessed and can’t stop the urge to go and buy a few bottles now! Only problem is that it is $19.99 and it isn’t even on sale! Uuuugh, the tragedy of being poor.

I have to wait a few days before Christmas to do my haul, anyway.

The brand claims to be free from SLS, parabens and a lot of other nasties which is why I am eyeing it so much. There is also no dimethicone, an ingredient (silicone) that absolutely can’t get along with my skin. I verified the ingredients on CosDNA from the official website, Ulta and Priceline (just to be safe, you know?).

What are your thoughts?

I quite like this brand, I’ve used a couple of the shampoos and conditioners and have enjoyed them.

I was considering purchasing the purple bottle today. Has anyone had any experience with this one?

Oh my, I hadn’t heard of Wen haircare or the lawsuit. I read the reviews and omg, it is scary reading people’s stories at the amount of damage it has done to their hair =(

So I didn’t really end up liking this shampoo. I used the green one (thickening bamboo) and it made my hair FALL OUT. I was losing so much that my hair was just dead straight and limp. It was also more oily and I ended up having to wash it every 2 days to keep it somewhat fresh.

I’m using SheaMoisture and I’ve already gone and purchased two bottles for back up. I think this is it for me. SM is literally the best I’ve ever used.

Did you hear about the class action lawsuit filed against the company that makes Wen haircare.? Lots of people had their hair fall out after using it, they think it contained too many conditioners and oils and because it did`nt clean hair properly the build-up on their scalp was the reason for hair loss. some of them ended up with bald patches as well, it was horrible. Maybe a similar thing caused you to start losing hair.?

It contains copolymers and polyquats which are not as bad as silicones but are still film forming ingredients.

My hair is now super soft and the shampoo really hydrated my hair giving it a healthy shine while cutting down on frizz. Plus the number 1 ingredient is aloe Vera water which is super good for ur hair! The only downfall of this brand is the conditioners could be a little more hydrating. I mean they do hydrate your hair, they just don’t feel like it. You know? Because they are natural, they don’t give that ‘slippery’ feel

I’ve used this brand for about 4 months now because I cut out sulphates and silicones due to my wavy hair. Yes, the brand doesn’t use any nasties and if you read the ingredients list, you want see anything ending in “cone” or “xane” which are silicones or “ate” for sulphates
