Hair snapping when wet
HI Girls,
So i have posted in here before to say that when my hair is wet it literally snaps.
It looks like the strands swells and snaps from mid length. It use to snap closer to the root but now mid length i think the “problem area” is growing out but im really not sure, i am hoping it is growing out.
So its snapping when wet, alot when i colour im guessing its because the hair is moist. when it first started snapping my hair was virgin and never coloured. even now i just put a brown through it.
I have been advised that this sounds like hygral fatigue and i really thought i got the answer and my problem was fixed. well it wasn’t i did the protein treamtent and nothing has changed. the only time it doent really snap is if i put coconut oil in it (im guessing because the water cant get through to it)
so 3-4 months ago i was using a lengthening shampoo which i needed to use every 2nd day which i did religiously and i blowdried and flat ironed my hair every 2 days. also with this i did treatments inbetween like charcoal and olaplex.
I also did a lice treatment once and i realised afetrthis the problem started. the treatment was natual but i think it maybe started the issue and ever since then i have had random snappage.
I really dont think its hygral fatigue even though i was hoping it was because it would of been an easy fix. I think it is becuase i was washing and straightening every 2 days for about 4 months.
what should i do now?
Im hoping the problem area just grows out but what to do from now til then?
P.s. i have also seen a tricologist and spoken to so many hair dresser but everyone thinks its so weird and never heard of anything like this.
I tell them i think its from over moisturizing which i also did between the every 2 days washing but they say its impossible to over moisturize your hair which i dont agree with
