Fifty woman aged 25-35 who were looking to colour their hair at home. During this trial, beautyheaven asked 50 members to trial their chosen Garnier Olia shade every six weeks over a three-month period.

Garnier Olia is the first at-home hair colour powered by oil, not ammonia. The permanent hair colour is taking colouring products into a new era by providing maximum performance. Formulated with a unique Oil Delivery System, the rich, vibrant colours utilise the power of four nourishing flower oils to push the colour deep within the hair follicle, resulting in rich, vibrant shade that’s both free of ammonia and long lasting. During the three-month trial, the majority of testers reported loving the fact that this product didn’t contain the overpowering ‘chemical’ smell that many other hair dyes contain, and that Garnier Olia provided a strong, radiant depth of colour after every application. While some members found the colour faded a little too quickly for them, most triallers discovered the effects lasted well into the six-week period and produced a radiant result they could see even when their hair was wet. A couple of testers did report that their hair felt a little bit brittle after the three-month trial, but the vast majority of testers agreed their hair felt softer and generally healthier throughout and after the trial. While there were a couple of people who found the applicator bottle to be too slippery during application, they were impressed with the generous supply of the included conditioner, with most getting three to five uses out of each bottle. They also loved the way the conditioner made their hair feel after each use – and a few members even mentioned noticing a reduced number of split ends during the trial period.

“I was so excited to have the opportunity to trial this product (so thank you Garnier & BH) because it’s one I’ve used before with great results. This time, I used a different shade, Frost Chestnut (previously I’ve only used red dyes from Garnier), and was again happy with the result. It has covered up almost all of my red hair, except for a slight tint you can see in the light, which is just what I wanted. I’ve also found that Olia colours last longer for me than other dyes.” – lasso

“I liked the smell of the dye well as it was nice and there was no pungent, chemical smell. Before applying the dye I made sure to do the patch test. The dye felt fine when applied in my hair (there was no irritation etc). I love that Garnier Olia is ammonia free. “Rinsing out the colour I was quite surprised… my hair felt soft! Not the dried-out straw effect I am normally left with. And (best of all in my husband’s opinion) it didn’t stain my shower tiles like some colours I have tried! ”¨I then applied the conditioner (can I just say I wish they sold this in big bottles because I would but bucket loads!) and my hair has never felt so silky soft! “After continuous use of this colour, I am happy that the results continue to be great, my hair quality is outstanding and I am noticing a reduced number of split ends. “I have to say I will be using this again as it sure beats two hours in a salon and 80 dollars later – and why pay this when you can achieve the same results at home for a fraction of the price?
