3 Barrel Hair Wavers

Hi All,

Been doing a little research on 3 barrel hair wavers for my very straight hair. I am pretty bad at hairstyling and curling my hair, but I really like the look the 3 barrels gives and think it shouldn’t be too hard to master. Wondering if anyone has any experience with them. There seems to be two brands in Australia (Bondi Boost and Mermaid Hair) but it seems like you can get them from overseas/amazon and ebay pretty easily, so wondering if anyone had one, where they got it from and how they had found it. Thanks in advance 🙂

I’ve got my Mermade and used it once so far – main thing I noticed was that with my small hands, my thumb actually got quite sore opening the clamp. The waves didn’t last as long as I wanted to – but probably a matter of trial and error to see how long I need to hold the clamp in place and how much product to use.

The look it gives is really pretty though.

Thanks for the feedback. I hadn`t thought about the strain in the hand from the clamp, definitely something to keep in mind, knowing me, if it is too difficult or time consuming to do, I won`t use it. how long did it take you to complete?

It took me about 30-40 minutes. I have a lot of hair!

Hey Fifi I`ve seen this lately on Adore Beauty. Did you get the 32mm or the mini?

Hi sorry for the slow response! It would have been the original one, not the mini.

        No worries Fifi.

Nicoler112 a stylist for Eleanor Pendleton used a $25 one from eBay on Eleanor’s hair for an event. She loved it so much she got one herself from eBay. 32mm version was used. You can check it out in insta. I haven’t bought it to try

Hi tigerlily, I couldn`t get the link to work, what is the Instagram handle and I will try and find it. I have seen a few on eBay for a much longer price point so I am intrigued.

Oh bugger. It’s @nicolekene_makeup posted on 27 September. I saw this before I knew of mermade one

If you’re interested, I can find the eBay seller Eleanor purchased from

Thanks found it. It`s the allure one, so no need for the eBay link, I have got it. It`s quite cheap, I might give it a go 🙂

I bought one years ago which I haven’t used in quite a while truthfully, but it’s a BaByliss Pro one. I’m not sure that the exact same one would still be available but it worked really well for me when I was using it regularly, so that might be a good brand to look into. They’re really easy and fun to use!

I have seen the babybliss pro in my googling. I don`t think you can get it in an Australian store but can get an overseas one and an adapter plug. Thanks for the response

Sorry yes, I should have mentioned that – I purchased it off eBay and I have to use an adapter plug to use it. I can`t find the exact one I have online anywhere but I imagine improvements would have been made over the years anyway.
