Disappearing scent
Has anyone tried “Maroussia” _ Moscou – Paris?
If you haven’t tried it, consider yourself lucky. Don’t even bother wasting your money!
I know we get what we pay for; but surely. the fragrance should have even a faint whiff? Not so.
It smells nice in the bottle and when initially applied; but that’s where it ends!
I know not all skins hold scents the same; but I’ve also tried applying it to my clothing, hoping I’d at least get some bang for my buck; but sadly, “NO”!

Hello everyone!
Do you know any ways to extend the fragrance’s persistence? -

Can anyone recommend a floral perfume with staying power? I am tired of wearing perfume that I can’t smell on myself after 15 minutes and this goes for the set of Elizabeth Arden mini perfumes that I bought last year. I love the fragrances, particularly 5th Avenue but am wondering if these sets are just eau de toilette and not concentrated perfume after all. ??

Have you ever tried Daisy by Marc Jacobs? I think it is a very persistent fragrance

Maroussia is currently on a big discount at chemist warehouse fragrance sale
$12.99 for 100 mls – save $56.01!
I remember having this some 30 years ago and loving it – has the scent changed?
CM have free shipping on fragrances and I need to buy a couple of vitamins – worth paying $12.95 and adding to my cart?
Or simply pay $8.95 delivery!http://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/Buy/40011/Maroussia-by-Slavia-Zaitsev-Eau-de-Toilette-Spray-100mL

I`m sorry for the delay in responding. I`ve had the dreaded flu and today`s the first day I`ve sat down at my computer.
Take my advice, do not even consider buying Maroussia.
And the so called current, big discount at Chemist Warehouse; how did they come up with the quoted “”$12.99 for 100 mls – save $56.01″”?
Maroussia is and always has been, a fragrance on the lower end of the price range. I just bought it to spray on myself and also spray around the place; because I love the smell of perfume. However; this one is a waste of time and money. You might as well spray water! Don`t waste your money!

I hope you’re feeling better Electra1 and thanks for replying.
You’ll be happy to know I didn’t go ahead and order the Maroussia edt – really don’t need another perfume yet – especially if i didn’t like it!
And discovered I could purchase the vitamins from a pharmacy near work – Win! Win!
I’ve done a great job of resisting all of the sales going on (apart from half price Maybelline mascara at PL) and subconsciously don’t want to break!

I’ve got some 5th Avenue perfume which disappears quickly, so I spray around the neck & sleeve cuffs of my top. The scent lasts MUCH longer! If I’m worried about staining the fabric I spray my bra instead: that works too!

As I’ve become older, I’m finding it a challenge to find a long-lasting perfume. Most perfumes I test in stores fade in half an hour. If they do last longer – perhaps a few hours – they fade to their base notes quickly, or to a generic scent. I don’t get to enjoy a perfume’s top notes for very long. I used to love wearing Shalimar when I was younger. The last time that I tested it in a store, it faded quickly.
I’ve managed to find a few longer lasting perfumes. One is MOR’s marshmallow perfume. The other is LaVanila in their passion fruit variation.
I assumed that my difficulty with scents is due to my skin chemistry. However, it is possible that perfume companies have changed the way that they formulate perfumes e.g. using more synthetic ingredients.

You can layer with the shower gel, moisturiser in the same fragrance to last longer too. I have a MOR Passionflower and Lychee Body Lotion, it has lots of fragrance. I was very surpised. I do not wear a perfume when I wear it.

Switch from an Eau de toilette to a Pure Perfume. That will make a huge difference.
Also you can layer scents like putting on body lotion in the same scent then your perfume to make it last longer. -

Very interesting seeing this topic now as I recently bought a perfume and have noticed that the scent disappears very quickly. It’s an EDP and it’s Chanel – which in the past I’ve found their fragrances to be quite long lasting. Not this one though. After about two hours it’s gone. Perhaps they’re getting lighter on their concentrations? I wonder if the rise in fragrance sensitivities among the general population is affecting the quality of perfume, like maybe people complain that they can’t wear their perfume to the office because so-and-so gets migraines so the perfume manufacturers ease up on the strength so they can sell more perfume?

Defeats the purpose of wearing an expensive perfume! If one spends the money to buy an expensive,, well-known brand of perfume, one would expect to get value for money!
Perfumeries charge inflated prices for watered down products, that might make someone allergic – Great way to overcharge!
When I wear perfume, I expect to smell good and feel good and I do expect a strong smell, as I love strong perfumes!

I remember sniffing Maroussia when it first came out & I thought it smelt just like Aerogard! I suppose things smell differently to different people.

That’s strange. When I’ve tried this its always had a really strong exotic woody kind of smell to me. I thought it would last a while somehow. I guess it is a pretty cheap perfume so as you say – you get what you pay for.
