Never heard of Palermo. I’ve had some bad experiences with copies like them giving me skin rashes and headaches etc. Prefer to save for or beg others to buy me the real stuff!

last nite i went to a palermo perfume party, which offers affordable perfume of cheaper versions of real perfums, and was pleasantly surprised with the quality and little in difference between a ‘real perfume’ and a fake one. i hav bought two champayne by YSL and hot couture by Givenchy for a total of $95. has anyone else tried this brand of perfumes would luv to hear ur feedback.
i am looking forward to geting my perfumes.

Hi, i’ve found that asian type shops will stock cheap, immitation perfumes.
Of course they aren’t 100% Spot on to the original, more like 98%, But for 1/5th of the price, they really do work and do the job!

Revlon’s Pink Happiness Delicate Moments is a dead ringer for Viktor & Rolf’s Flowerbomb. I prefer the real thing, but if you like Flowerbomb (or have a friend who does) but don’t want to spend a heap of cash it’s a very similar fragrance. It doesn’t last as long & is not exact but is very nice. If you keep an eye out for Revlon sales @ Myer they frequently have it discounted too.

I’ve tried a cheaper version of Samsara and of J’adore and they both sucked…… First impressions was fine but give it 10 mins until they ripen and it stinks. I would rather either buy miniatures or save up and buy an original.

They are very affordable and if you place and order through Citysnatch you can get them even cheaper. yeah I’ve found the ‘stitch’ brand of perfumes which are alternative versions of the originals are so close to the real version you can’t even tell and most of them are less than $20 from memory – you can get them at priceline. I’ve got the one that smells like Tommy Girl and its brilliant!

This one isn’t a cheap copy, but a very well priced real one. The Perfume Collection of Ralph Lauren costs about $50 for a bottle of 100ml and it lasts a long time. My favourite is ‘Ralph Wild’ which I always get wonderful feedback from when I wear it. Totally recommend it!

You make a good point, beautyphilosopher, we should ask ourselves whether buying the cheapest products is the best thing when you consider ethics, environmentally responsible manufacturing etc..
I tend to be a bit more thoughtful when it comes to grocery shopping and have a great publication, The Ethical Consumer Guide which gives you info on each company, I recommend it for anyone who wants to do their little bit to improve the world 🙂

Thanks Kireina I will definitely look into this book. I have also been interested in biodegradable beauty formulations (ie not just the packaging) but this seems to be a hard area to glean information about.
