Lately I have been using charcoal powder and it has certainly made a significant difference. Whilst it is a little messy, it is absolutely worth the result!

I have found most toothpastes actually just wear the enamel on your teeth

I use baking soda and coconut oil rather than chemicals.

Yes the whitening pen is pretty awesome also. And haha yeah the toothpaste section has gotten quite confusing these days!
So many options. -

I have used colgate optic white toothpaste and while it does whiten, its not a huge difference, I have never used a whitening pen and am interested to see if these work better

I second the Colgate Optic White. Its my regular toothpaste now and I definitely see results.
If you want ultra fast lightening results however I found Oral B Whitestrips amazing.Priceline has half price on all toothpastes and most dental stuff for about another week though,so now would be a great time to pick some up if you are near one.

Have you tried the Colgate Optic White High Impact White Toothpaste? It’s in the shimmery red box that says 3 (or 4) shades whiter. You don’t see results immediately but over time it definitely works. I haven’t used any other toothpaste since then. It’s a bit expensive for the small tube but I stock up whenever a store has it on sale.
