OH man, the old blue yobbo shorts. My uncle was a big fan. Even bought me my own pair when I was much much younger, as he disliked the normal length shorts my mum made me wear! Hah. Stubbies were the favoured brand. Woah what a nostalgia trip.

It makes me so proud to be australian! I loved what they guy said “americans live to work when aussies work to live”

I sure have seen the short shorts ! hahaha love them ! especially when guys wear socks and their thongs lol my grandfather used to do that !

where is the thongs, sausages and guys in short shorts (tradies)

Then when donna hay cooked them food it was all upper class food.

I don’t think I’ve ever been to a bbq where the guys were wearing short shorts. Board shorts maybe… but not short shorts.

My step-dad wears short shorts. They’re kind of high waisted too. He really needs to go shopping. I swear he hasn’t bought any new clothes since the early 90s.

Much shorter than cargo pants, BQ. They come in all sorts of colours including black, blue, green, grey and brown that I can remember.

I still have some myself. They’re Ruggers brand. I wouldn’t wear them to a BBQ, but I know other people who would.

My brother used to wear them all the time. In winter, he’d go to work in shorts, t-shirt, shirt and about 3 sloppy joes!

The reason was that he was a mechanic, and when he got to work, he put overalls on over the shorts. Anything longer would get in the way of the overalls. That’s probably why so many tradies wear them.

Mind you, “builder’s crack” or “plumber’s crack” conjure images of overweight hairy tradies wearing short shorts, without overalls to spare us the horror. :p

I only wear overalls when I’m mowing, so that’s the only time I wear those shorts now. 🙂

i guess some foreigners just don’t get it!
