Nivea drops Rihanna

I just read on the net that Rihanna has been dropped by Nivea:

http://www.nydailynews.com/life-style/fashion/nivea-drops-rihanna-raunchy-image-skin-care-company-axes-pop-star-party-girl-image-article-1.1136001

I’ve always really disliked her as an artist so I’m not sure if it was that but I was really surprised when she was chosen as the face of Nivea last year.

She is a beautiful young woman and she definitely has amazing skin but that’s where the similarities ended for me – I found her image to be completely opposite to the one that Nivea presents so I’m not surprised at all that the new CEO has dropped her.

What do you guys think? Who do you think would be good as the new face?

Even though Rihanna is a pretty young lady, I never liked any of her songs- they all sound alike to me and I found them painful and irritating to hear. I didnt know Nivea dropped her, guess she wasnt portraying the image they wanted. Am sure both parties will survive.

Good move. Nivea has always been seen as a brand with a relatively conservative image, and Rihanna is just the polar opposite of that…

I do not like anything about Rihanna.

Rhianna does have amazing skin and eyes….she’s beautiful but too much of a prty girl I think for Nivea. Nivea to me is stable and reliable. I agree that Kate Middleton would be perfect for the face of Nivea.

    I fully agree as well.

Rihanna is beautiful and I am sure she is strong and free-spirited as well but truth be told we already have so many celebrities in the foreground that aren’t what you’d call good rolemodels. I think that artists should be free to express themselves and be who they are without getting censored, and if they don’t feel they should act like rolemodels then that is their right – and I have no idea who Rihanna is as a person. What I do know is that the overall message she seems to send as a celebrity and in the media is far from what I’d want young girls to see and so I think it’s smart that Nivea doesn’t let her repeat that message in their name as though it is an elegance to be admired.

Girls can party and have stormy relationships all they want but at the end of the day I want young girls to see that abusive boyfriends will never change and being raunchy and drinking will only get you so much in life… and so if a big brand like Nivea decides to endorse a female rolemodel in the name of natural beauty and other positive traits… I don’t think Rihanna would be suitable. I want to like her, I always do, and I don’t know why, but I think she’s a terrible terrible rolemodel.

I agree that Rihanna, as gorgeous as she is, is not a suitable representative of the Nivea brand (I’m not a fan of hers, lol)

Zooey Deschanel has the creamy skin I associate with Nivea .
or Anne Hathaway has amazing skin too.

I think Zooey, would be a good match.

Can tou recommend any of their eye creams FB?? I’ve settled on the majority of most of my skincare products but have never really found my HG eye cream.

I have to admit I’ve never really used many Nivea products but funnily enough I consider them to be a really reliable brand – funny, they must have a good reputation for me to trust them without even using their stuff!

I agree with you Nda……never really impressed with Rihanna. But I do LOVE Nivea…….after trialling some products on here recently I have actually transferred nearly all my skin care over to Nivea products. Very happy with them and impressed with the products themselves and also the company………..best Customer Service I have ever received from them.
I am not sure who should be the new face for Nivea ????

Yeah I am the same have always considered them a reliable trustworthy brand but had never really used their products. But after trialling the Q10 Range I am super impressed. I loved everything about the products the jars are luxe feeling, the cream is lovely, nice texture, gorgeous scent and my skin felt so nice. And they are all so affordable………..just bought the Q10 Day Cream in the Light version for $13 and the Toner for $6.50 all on sale 🙂

Yeah catlover I don’t know what it is, I just really don’t like her! Her music is beyond terrible but there’s something I find really annoying about her, can’t place my finger on it. Maybe it’s because I’m jealous that she gets to work with so many talented artists without having any talent herself haha!!

I agree. I don’t like anything about Rihanna. What a shame they can’t use royals for an advertising campaign….I’ve read that the Duchess of Cambridge uses Nivea. Wouldn’t it be nice to see Kate’s beautiful face on the ads?!
