Charlotte Dawson passed away

I just read the news and am in shock. It’s extremely sad and tragic. I hope finally she has some peace along with the angels. RIP Charlotte.

So very sad. It seemed she had been battling depression for some time. I hope she has found peace.

RIP beautiful angel! You are now in a better place… I just hope that the awful people who refused to stop their hurtful comments realise that words hurt.
This age of bullying has to stop! One only has to look on celebrity’s instagram pages… Stars like Kim K, Beyonce, Rihanna to name a few. The things that people say to them “Kill yourself” “Stick you head in a blender”. This is not acceptable!! When will people be held accountable for their words. I strongly believe that those who post hurtful comments should be charged. If you do not have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.

I just received this email in my inbox just in case anyone is interested in signing a petition in response to the death of Charlotte:

I was shocked when I read about Charlotte’s death on Facebook – Trelise Cooper had a tribute to her. I was very shaken by this as I too suffer from major depression caused by bullying in the workplace and am still struggling. The other day, an elderly man who hit my car which was stationary buillied me and struck me with his open hand on my bar upper arm. That brought me down again big time. The police are involved and I hope he is charged with several offences to do with the collision and the assault. I can understand that Charlotte would have been shaking in advance of the airing of the show regarding her ex-husband. It is a tragedy and she is not the only person who has died due to major depression/anxiety arising from bullying. So very sad and unnecessary.

oh Roxymisha, what a horrible thing to happen. Some people just have no consideration whatsoever for other people. I hope your going coping ok, I can totally understand how this would have a huge impact on your state of mind.

Roxymisha, I’m sorry to hear of you being bullied by this horrid man. Some people should really feel ashamed of themselves! Charlotte Dawson’s death also deeply saddened me because of my own lifelong experience with depression, and with my worsening health, how my depression has become much deeper (especially recently). Sweetie, my heart goes out to you.

Petal, I didn’t want to take over this post with my issues but it is wonderful to get some support. I too am sorry that you are suffering at the moment. We all need each other at times like this. I am not doing well today so messages from you and others are very special. Take care of yourself. xx

Gosh Roxy, that’s just horrible to hear that this man actually hit you. What gives him the right to strike out at you…..sheeeeesh. There is no excuse for that behaviour and I do hope they charge him with assault on you.
In the meantime, I hope you are okay and please don’t let him upset you. I know your past history from meeting you in here and all I would love to do is give you a BIG (((((HUG)))).
I still can’t believe that Charlotte has gone as she has been in my memory bank for so long. It just breaks my heart that she got so low and had to end her life.

Jatz, thanks for your kind words and I have received your enormous virtual hug! Charlotte Dawson is one of so many people who resort to taking their lives when they can’t go on anymore. It is dreadful when this happens but I can understand why this is the case, particularly when people live on their own. Even though one may have wonderful friends, one can still feel so horribly alone and in such a dark place that it becomes too much of an effort to deal with life. Hopefully, she will be in peace now. x

Well that man clearly has some stuffed up issues if he thinks it’s alright to behave like that!

I hope you’re feeling a little better Roxy, I’m so sorry to hear that you had to deal with something like that, situations like this are very frightening and I can imagine that it would be even more difficult with underlying issues with depression and bullying.

If you would like I’ll come teach those people in your workplace a thing or two about respect, manners and boundaries, just say the word!

Zaralis, you made me laugh. I am glad you are willing to watch my back. I no longer work because of what happened to me in my last workplace and I probably will not be able to do so again. Far too ill and struggle to manage with my own life on a daily basis. Yet, there are still good days and I cherish those. x

Ah Roxy! You really didn’t need that. I completely understand how something like that can set you back. From what I’ve read about you, you and I are in a fairly similar situation at the moment. It’s very easy to isolate yourself because when you step out into the world some jerk like the one who ran into you comes along and crushes you back down again. The only saving grace is that there are lovely people around, such as the ones on this forum who are wishing you only the best xox

Cat Lover, your words of wisdom resonate with me. Yes, there is a reason I isolate myself – don’t want or need to deal with any unpleasant, horrid people. However, these people are outnumbered by genuine, caring and kind people that I know on BH and in my own life. Still so distressed about what happened to me and so sad that a beautiful woman, Charlotte Dawson, had to end her life because she saw no hope for the future. Take care. x
