Celebrity haters who miss out
Often I read comments on articles and forums on this site that “hate” (I use this term loosely, as part of a vernacular)on particular people or “celebs”. I’ve read comments from people stating that they think a particular person is “vile” and they would never purchase anything they produce or endorse because they would never want to support their greedy money grubbing ways etc. I understand that everyone has the right to their own opinions, and I completely respect everyone’s opinions also, however the comments themselves sometimes are just negative to the personality or celebrity and aren’t an indication of the product. I do have to say this is a beauty website which I love to visit and I do think it’s a great community of users, who I rarely (if ever) have seen a negative remark towards other users. I love to read articles about new products and application tips and I myself love to post my thoughts and reviews.
Sometimes there are products that are celebrity endorsed- or their own brand and sometimes the application tips are from a particular celebrity’s look. I have received awesome tips on articles that contain some pretty negative and off the point comments and it makes me think that some people are missing out on trying some great things because their “hate” is blinding them from the actual purpose of this website, which is to inform us about beauty and health trends and products. The same is relevant to beauty products, at the minute I have a whole trove of Kylie Cosmetics products that I absolutely love, but I’ve read that lots of people won’t try them because she is part of the Kardashian/Jenner clan. To me that seems like some people are missing out on trying some really great products due to their dislike for her and her family. This is not a post about me thinking everyone needs to go out and try the Kylie Cosmetics line, I’m using her as an example because I’ve been using a lot of her stuff lately and I know how reluctant people have been to try the products- I also know people won’t try Paris Hilton products or Jeffree Star collabs because they don’t like things they have done as people.
Anyway these are just my thoughts and opinions. Just on a note about the negative comments, this is a site that relies on the input of its users, I think it might be nice if when a negative comment has nothing to do with the quality or experience with a beauty or health product that we all try and follow that old saying of, “if you haven’t got anything nice to say, then don’t say anything at all.” And maybe we can look past who made the product or who endorsed it and try it out ourselves and form opinions based on the products and not the person. 🙂
