Waxing and ingrowns

What are your best tips (and fave products!) for after wax care? I’m an every 4-weeks waxer (in salon) and no matter what I do, I can’t seem to avoid ingrowns!

After years of waxing, I am now 3 consecutive months into burns/blisters! It’s the same girl I have had for the past year, so I know it isn’t her (nor the product, as it’s the same one…) but my skin is now obviously so damaged that I can’t seem to avoid these painful burns and blistering each time now. Maybe time to head over to laser? Any suggestions…?

My waxing lady said after a wax wait about 5 days, then exfoliate every day for a week, then every second day, then a good exfoliate before your next appointment.

Chemical exfoliation is also an option! I find that i need to use a chemical exfoliant under my underarms to prevent ingrowns – physical exfoliation just doesn’t cut it for me there.

Yep, regular exfoliation pre-waxing (you should exfoliate at least 2 days before you wax) and afterwards. Gotta do it at least once a week or you will continue getting ingrowns. I know if I don’t do it pre or post-waxing, I’m more prone to ingrowns.

Regular exfoliation. Before waxing, after waxing. Manual or chemical! At least once a week, every week!

I’ve got especially tough skin (symptom of thyroid disease). I epilate & I’ve got to make sure I exfoliate really thoroughly the days after I’ve epilated, when some of the new hair growth is due to break through the skin. Here’s what I use, but it’s not for everyone: http://www.beautyheaven.com.au/forums/skincare/whats-your-biggest-skincare-concern?page=4#comment-2636316
